massina said:Well I have this problem...The bikkhu states that it is not a sin if we eat meat of an animal knowing that it was never killed for us. This is my question.
Most of animals are slaughtered to the mass market. For the buyers. So if there are no buyers the meat products are not available, right? So if we are a buyer, we are definitely in the circle right? I mean yes that animal was not killed for your name but, we are the buyers...
I have been a vegetarian for 8 years now. Its not because of the sins or Buddhism. its because we have no right to slaughter animals for a pleasure of few seconds...
Say no to animal torturing!!!
Pinwath mithura,
What that swaminwahanse says is in accordance with Dhamma.
If one practices Dhamma
- he/she may or may not eat meat
- if eating: he/she should make sure that it in accordance with Dhamma
- if not: he/she should not think of it as Sila (if not
And we should never discriminate based on whether we eat meet or not...
