Using a 2016 Dec RS for two months now.

Power and performance - Nothing to complain. Has a good pickup.
Reliability and build quality - Excellent
Fuel efficiency - Does only 12kmpl ( driving from Nugegoda to Maradana daily)
Leg room and comfort - Excellent.

I can recommend the RS 17 than other options you have mentioned.

Best option wait till the budget proposal... If they reduce tax you can afford a xtrail or a outlander phv

Despite being a hybrid its a quite nippy ride, however reliability of the transmission is questionable. It's not made for Sri Lankan traffic conditions

Yep, Older ECT Gearboxes which made by AISIN are rock solid. newer CVTs doesn't even coming with overhaul kit. pretty much disposable once an issue occurs. not repairable.
