hi guys...

I want to buy a new VGA card because my previous Eagle 8600GT stopped working all of a sudden (no signal message on monitor)...

my budget is very limited of about Rs.8000-9000 and want to buy the best card i can get for that price.. nvidia or ati as brand does not matter..

the power supply i am using is a normal mercury 450W that came with my casing and therefore i need a card that will be able to work on that power supply, as my budget is too limited to upgrade the PSU.

So please suggest the best VGA that i can buy for that price to play games mainly, and from where i can buy in sri lanka..

thank you in advance...

my pc config is -
CPU - intel C2D E4500 (2.2GHz)
RAM - kingston DDR2 667
motherboard - intel D945GCNL

Go for ATI.Real value for the price.

Im using same mobo. The Intel D945GCNL. Is it support C2D processor??

So, Im using NVidia 9500GT 1GB. I bought it B4 two months for 9750.00 from R'pura. I cant assure it is the best. Bt it is gud for my requirements.

    Buy 9600gt

machn 9600GT is expensive no? i asked from PC partner in Unity plaza and they said they have MSI 9600GT for Rs. 15000.. and another thing is - 9600GT requires a better power supply than m existing one..

yes machan 945GCNL supports C2D as long as the FSB is 800 :).. the processor which i am using is E4500, so it has FSB 800 ;)

and thanks for your info about your VGA card.. one question - did you play crysis using that card? if so - what were the settings you were able to play on?
    many thanks :)

thanks for ur info machn.. but i was thinking of geting a 9500GT like suggested in previous posts because i read reviews online and 9400GT performance is very limited when it comes to gaming..
