I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing again this full story to express my concerns and seek comprehensive information regarding the authenticity verification process for Essilor Transition Gen 8 lenses with Crizal Easy Pro coating. My experience and recent interactions have raised significant doubts about the authenticity of the product I purchased, and I would appreciate your assistance in clarifying the following issues:

Background: A few months ago, I purchased Essilor Transition Gen 8 lenses with Crizal Easy Pro coating from a Vision Care branch for approximately 70,000 LKR. With my purchase, I received an invoice, one plastic card (which seemed to lack proper serial information), and a lens cloth. However, I recently heard unsettling stories about Vision Care potentially providing fake or duplicate products, which has led me to question my own purchase. Additionally, I have experienced significant discomfort and pain in my right eye when using these glasses, which is concerning given my heavy use of a laptop for over 12 hours daily.

    My Attempts to Verify Authenticity:

    1. I contacted the Vision Care head office and received conflicting information.
    2. I spoke with staff at the Galle branch, who informed me that authentic Essilor Transition Gen 8 lenses with Crizal Easy Pro coating should come with two plastic cards (one for the lens and one for the coating) and the coating should have a Fog ID.
    3. I visited the Ambalangoda branch, where the staff were unaware of the coating verification card and Fog ID, adding to my confusion and frustration.
Given these discrepancies and the potential risk of having purchased a counterfeit product, I seek your guidance as the authorized Essilor brand agent in Sri Lanka.

    Specific Inquiries:

    1. General Verification Process:
      • Can you provide a clear explanation of the general verification process for Essilor lenses, including the standard materials or methods provided to customers to verify authenticity?
    2. Verification Cards:
      • Should customers always receive two plastic cards (one for the lens and one for the coating) as a standard practice for authenticity verification?
    3. Fog ID or Other Identifiers:
      • Does the Crizal Easy Pro coating include a Fog ID or any other specific marking that is standard across all genuine products?
    4. Ensuring 100% Authenticity:
      • Are there any additional steps or guidelines provided by Essilor to ensure that customers can verify the authenticity of their products completely?
Additional Case: A friend of mine who purchased progressive lenses faced an issue where the Essilor website failed to identify the PID number of his lenses. He was informed by a Vision Care branch that Essilor’s website would update the Sri Lankan database in September, which would then allow for PID number verification. Could you clarify if this information is accurate and provide any additional insights on this matter?

As a concerned customer, I am seeking reliable methods to verify the authenticity of my lenses. If my purchase is proven to be a counterfeit, I intend to take legal action against Vision Care. Therefore, your prompt and detailed response will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your understanding and assistance. @AnuradhaRa
