Water for Life



Water, after air, is the second element necessary for survival.
A normal adult is 70% water.
We can keep alive for almost two months without food, but only a few days without water.
Water flushes-out body’s waste products like acid and urea through kidneys which will not be dissolved without water.
Water is vital for chemical reaction in digestion and metabolism
Water carries nutrients and oxygen to the cells through blood.
Water keeps the body cool through perspiration.
Water is needed even for breathing because our lungs must be moist to take in Oxygen and take-out Carbon-di-Oxide.
We loose about ½ liter of water each day just for exhaling.
By not drinking enough water we may incur:-
i. Excess body fat
ii. Poor muscle tone and muscle size.
iii. Decreased digestive efficiency and organ functions.
iv. Increased toxity in the body.
v. Tendency of joint muscle soreness
Proper water intake is the key to weight loss and reduction of obesity.
Reduction of fluid (water) in the body keeps weight up.
One should take of sufficient water for every 10 kg of extra weight.
Spread in take of sufficient water through out the day and evening is conducive to good health. Taking excess water at a time is harmful.
Taking 8 to 10 glasses of water throughout the day puts you on your way to healthier and learner body.
