Your xorg.conf is not getting saved over reboots or getting restored from a backup or you have passed VGA options with the kernel parameters in the grub.

Check those settings. Specially the /boot/grub/menu.lst for kernel parameters at boot time.

problem solved.. there's another display driver installed called livna.. i don't know how it get installed it resets the xorg.conf file at booting process..
