you better switch for an another distro. I'm totally switched for Fedora/slackware (well SLW is lyk හොර ගෑනි) couz dis shitty Ubuntu

if you r looking for useability . try new Mint (7)Gloria i heard its better

I prefer Xfce coz it consump less memory and fast. Mint 6 was available on 3 x desktop environments .
But dnt have that ability on 7 now as itz jst released

after premier and after effects there's a software called Cinnarella
for 3d max there's superb one named blender

they use kino for video capturing and lot of software's to do other stuff..
