how's FOSS going now?

Here again after about a month of exams. Seems the thread is going hot. Long live FOSS.
For now, my biggest problem is downloading FC11 DVD ---- which is almost impossible with my 1GB free ADSL.
Has to find some one who's willing to turn his PC on for some 2 days till it's downloaded.
I have already come to the limits of FC9

But neither the Fedora i have used it. Not so cool as u say.(sorry personal idea)

But Mint is better for people with no internet connection as they have all codecs in one CD.

I wanna try slackware still downloading it. will atleast get few days to complete and wont b able to try til august.(2nd semister exams !!!!!)

hy what you mean fedora isnt cool ?
try instaling gui and u gotta do some modifications if you want a super cool interface thy dont give them in default caus its optimised for less memory and small processors

But the seen is I also have exams and I'm downloading slakware 12.2 cd pack by torrent so very slow net I have these day. Anyway someone will help you. Il also put the FC11 on to the torrent but i doubt it will take sometime to finish .>>>>

is your compiz effects working smoothly? i experienced some problems with it. sometimes window title bars disappear effects are not running smoothly. is there compatible issue with new gnome desktop and compiz-fusion?

yeah man.. i downloaded the latest driver from nvidia site. but no use. anyway i'm now installing sabayon 4.1 do you know how to install gnome 2.26 over 2.24?

have ya already downloaded gnome 2.26 ? if so
sudu yum localinstall {path to the rmp}

if not this must work
sudo yum -y groupinstall gnome
