dudes i have put ubuntu 6.10 hi hi hi and configured wine as well it's just look like vista now im trying to get xp within linux

Gentoo is not for the faint of heat! Suggest you try this if you have 2 PCs (or virtual PCs) connected to the internet. You'll be spending quite a bit of time surfing and trouble shooting plus the time it takes to download source packages and compile them.

hahaha yeah of course. i tried installing it like 2 times... and i gave up in the end... may be i should try it again...

yes of course and how can we forget that! hehe... i recently tried Ubuntu Feisty liveCD.. it damn have the 3D desktop and some nice copmzi effects!!!! on the liveCD!!! damn.. hehe.. but it took me 5 mins to activate it cause there was a little bug in it...it normal cause its still in beta... it will be fixed in the upcomming versions...

Ubuntu is using Gnome GUI so this 3D thing is likely to be either a package for Gnome or an updated version of gnome. So updating your Gnome and/or installing the 3D package will give you the 3D desktop. No need to download the whole whole cd.

no ubuntu is having compzi pre installed... and it is runing on top of gnome when u enable "Desktop features" or something like that... from the menu..

and yes u can just install beryl or compzi and get the effects but it is a bit risky... but anyways its fun!

haha macho they are offering all three versions i guess.. 6.10 is the long term support version.. this is the one that u get from free CDs... that comes from ubuntu...

goto the site and check for the new ones or else u can do a distribution upgrade without downloading the whole iso again...
