AFAIK; we see things and perceive as a colour of an object.

The human eye and brain together translate light into colour. Light receptors within the eye transmit messages to the brain, which produces the familiar sensations of colour.

According to the researchers colour is not inherent in objects. Rather, the surface of an object reflects some colors and absorbs all the others. We perceive only the reflected colors.

Thus, red is not "in" an apple. The surface of the apple is reflecting the wavelengths we see as red and absorbing all the rest. An object appears white when it reflects all wavelengths and black when it absorbs them all.

So if it is true what is the colour of an apple would be? What is the colour of our hair could be? What is the colour of a White car could be?

Don't you feel that we are living in a world full of delusions and misconceptions?

Any thoughts guys?

    true.

this gets even more freakier as we go to the microcosm. not only color, but concepts like position, spin, velocity all these loses their ordinary meanings.

what bothers me most is what if the very conception of size as we know it loses it's meaning as we go deeper and deeper into the microcosm ? does it imply smallness is infinite too ?

I have the same problem regarding the smallest possible molecule found yet aka proton. Will publish a thread regarding that too :D

As long as it's edible, why would anyone care?

Just imagine the black colour. All most all consider it as a colour of dirt. People are little bit of reluctant to eat a piece of cake decorated with black whole despite eat decorated with another colour. That is how human brain works isn't it?

surface of an object reflects some colors and absorbs all the others. We perceive only the reflected colors. Just because we perceive as red ; it wouldn't actually be red would it.? So all the things we see are delusions.
