Don't look at the memory bandwidth tests. They are always higher on AMD because of their "superior" hypertransport bus. But what the end user needs is the end performance. Intel delivers better results at the end of the day.

What about newly released 45W EE models?there are 4 of them AFAIR.Anusha said:Actually not anymore.
Look at the power consumption of the new Phenom X4's?
Even when the PC is put into standby (S1 mode), they consume like 20W of power! AthonX2 used to only consume like 5W!
And performance per watt statistic is definitely not on AMD's hand.
AMD doesn't really do well with cache, because they have lowered most of the bottlenecks with the IMC. They just need raw performance from other aspects like clock speed, IPC, brand prediction, wider SSE execution etc. etc.
Sad to say but this time the importers are correct :/henderson said:usually the people who does the importing of processors are the key people who handles the market. Most of the people who buy processors do not read any reviews and they keep their entire faith on people who import processors. And usualy they always think about profits and they don't give a damn about customer experience.
Point taken. Its servers only.Anyway since ITX is mentioned VIAs pico boards and CPUs rox since they have 2W TDPAnusha said:True. But I thought we were only talking about Intel and AMD here![]()

They are no Phenom X4's :/zCexVe said:What about newly released 45W EE models?there are 4 of them AFAIR.
Actually no.After AMD got beaten by C2D Isaw a load of AM2 recently.I think importers are still going wrong.Anusha said:Sad to say but this time the importers are correct :/

Hehe....I hope Intel Atom will have a very prosperous path in the futurezCexVe said:Point taken. Its servers only.Anyway since ITX is mentioned VIAs pico boards and CPUs rox since they have 2W TDP![]()

C,mon why should it be a Phenom X4?Say even a C2Q has a 150W TDP.Anusha said:They are no Phenom X4's :/
Well....I don't know anything about the current CPU market status or any PC market status for that matter, because I'm not hunting for a new PC or at least a PC part...zCexVe said:Actually no.After AMD got beaten by C2D Isaw a load of AM2 recently.I think importers are still going wrong.Janmeta vada purudda lokuilu.

Don't go with the TDP. It is misleading. And it doesn't necessarily speak about the power "consumption". It is something that is more related to the heat sink specification, though it is not completely unrelated to the power consumption,zCexVe said:C,mon why should it be a Phenom X4?Say even a C2Q has a 150W TDP.
Mm reusing will not be the apropriate wordtdevinda said:They're also making three wheeler these days.
Re-using the crap that they managed to burn up when making Quad cores.
Its not like you put left over vegetables to the koththu at night.CPUs are made with some serious work known as Lithography in special factories(fabs).FYI The main fab for AMD Phenom X4is at Dresden,Germany Fab 38 which rolled out Engineering samples.Anusha said:Sad to say but this time the importers are correct :/

Thats interesting. But then again a one who can afford a QX sure can afford the bill.It will be great if Intel focus on the Desktop mainstream power consumption like AMD.But I love them reducing the Prices of C2Q penryns and based Xeons.Q6700 for 280USD is sure a comet fallen on AMDs planet.Anusha said:Don't go with the TDP. From a review, I saw that the new QX9650 draws the same power when rendering in Cinebench as the E6750. (and does it faster, so in the end, uses less ENERGY!)

That's a review from ancient history. I think we should be talking about the present day! :/henderson said:have a look @ this too
