    Hello everyone,

I'm planning to buy a 19" monitor. Initially I thought of getting a CRT since I do lot of graphic designing work, but I've been using CRTs for the past 6 years and needed a change...yes LCD !

So I decided to get the Samsung 932b. It has a 5ms response time and a 700:1 contrast ratio. But I was wondering whether there's even a better one out there, maybe a 2ms, 1000:1 one ?

So what's the latest and best 19" LCD available now here in Lanka?
Please tell me the place and the price(if you know).
Also if anyone know where to get HD 19" monitors, please let me know.

AFAIK, his budget is limited to 30k.
Yep 30K is my budget
Wouldn't mind spending a bit more if it is HD :P

Not necessarily. HD monitors have a HDMI input which can accept 1080p signals or 720p minimum, so you can plug your XBOX360 to it or watch HD movies :P

HD monitors support the following resolutions:
    1920x1080 HD (1080p)
    1280x1024 HD (720p)
    1440x900 HD (720p)
    1366x768 HD (720p)
    1280x768 HD (720p)
    1280x720 HD (720p)

Why would a monitor have HDMI, when there aren't speakers on the monitor? :S

How is 1280x1024 be an HD resolution? Shouldn't it be 16:9? :S

Monitor speakers are crap unless you're talking about HDTV, then yea it comes with speakers

And it should be 16:9 so it's 1280x720 res not 1280x1024 :sorry:

Anyways on the second thought, I feel that HD is useless for me :oo:
