Anybody know where to buy gherkins around Colombo? Checked couple of supermarkets and all I could find was salad cucumbers. Need some of these to try pickling

Might be difficult to get it in the open market. Best is to ask from Hayleys, if you know anyone. They're mostly grown in Dambulla and Puttalam areas as special projects not targetted at the open market, but strictly for export after brinding. Hayleys used to be the top exporters to Japan a few years ago. I presume they still are. They are mostly known as 'Kola pipinya'.
