I have never been to Geelong, So do not know about its nature. Since, most of the students occupy Melbourne as their destination, I can hardly give you some information about cities out of Melbourne. If your friend can select Burwood campus of Deakin, he might meet friends and Sri Lankans,from whom he will be able to get any help regarding part-time jobs.

Well, you need to have a degree completed. Then you can apply for an assessment to see how valid your qualification in Australia. There are no direct marketing positions but will be coming through

There is nothing called "easy". If you can claim relevant points or requirements depending on the visa category you are applying for, you will get a visa. but you have to be educated, experienced and well-conversant in English.

That falls under software engineering. Other than that there are no specific vacancies for PHP programming. When English people hire a software engineer, they will look for a variety of abilities from him and get the maximum use of that human resource.

The context in the sense that you should have completed all the requirements to be given a visa. Once you have finished studies, you have the option to work in any field as long as you have a visa. Till you get a proper job from a respective employer, you can work and live in Australia based on your visa category till you get your PR.
