Return ticket gaththath meke prices adui, mama Malaysia indala SL awoth Sri Lankan Airlines thamai aduma, but one way is around Rs.48,000/=, and if I'm not carriying much heavy luggage I can go to Singapore by train which will cost me around Rs. 1100/= + from Singapore to CMB around 25,000/=

Total 25,000 + 1100 = 26100 (not bad)

I can save about 22000/=

Ow ban... it will be around that price!! There's also a way that you can fly through Bangkok.. but that's a transit of 12 hours.. ticket is bit less, more like the same as Mihin offers now!!

Ya agreed, Sri Lankan airlines is better then Malaysian airlines... and cheaper!! But this new one seems more cheaper.. next time I'll go to Singapore to catch this.. I can do some shopping there too...

Well I agree but Sri Lankan is a fantastic airline with remarkable profit today, no matter who controlled it either UNP or SLFP Airline just didn't go on the right path, today tnx to emirates administration Sri Lankan is making tremendous profits making it as the best carrier in the region, we shoulf renew emirates contact by 2008 while promoting mihin as the low carrier in the region

my thinking regarding this whole airline is that they should have added these planes to Sri Lankan cos its the oldest one hear and its not named after some stupid politician.Other good Airlines have more than 20 planes least

Yeah then only the rich people who can afford their rates can fly.....

On the other side, Sri Lankan airlines have 14 flights at the moment and they have ordered 2 new flights as well. Which is enough them to operate efficiently.

So Mihin Air is a good alternative to rich people as well as middle class people to fly abroad and enjoy the world.

Many Airlines have the same kinda system. Qantas operates Jetstar as a low cost air line, Singapore has Tiger. [not sure about the name]

Anyway... This is a good alternative for all the people in the island to enjoy the luxury for a lesser cost.

Politics aside, I think what was missing in SL was a budget airline so there's no point adding these into Sri Lankan airlines because they have different standards and whatever Sri Lankan airlines do has to be decided by Emirates also....

Besides we pay relatively high for short distance flying... that's what this airline aim at... and once they start to become successful we will have some competition so that we can benefit!!!

Like here in Malaysia "Air Asia" started flying when short distance flying was dominated by Malaysian Airlines and as soon as Air Asia started flights for short distance flying within Asia Pacific.. Malaysian Airlines nearly became bankrupt!! And they cut down prices a lot as well.....
