Knowledge that could be harmful when used improperly is encrypted so that only the Wise Ones can understand it. There is a reason for it!

I can imagine knowledge used in wrong ways . . even nuclear technology which was intended to be used for cvilian power generating had been utilized to create weapons of mass destruction. It's better the knowledge be confined to a few who knows the clear impact of it . . it's safe for the world and prevent exploitation.

Nop, they were gone underground for a while and existed in secrecy. Many of the lineages still exist in secret and not exposed to the public. But few came out of the closet when the laws against Witchcraft were repealed in 1952. Still it is in the process of coming back to surface.
Music is a popular art and that's why ye see it that way. That is a one way it is coming back to surface.

It's nice to hear . . . but if this goes over maybe the fundementalists will be alarmed that paganism is spreading . .they may try to oppress and purge.

I found reading your articles on EK very useful. I'm not a wiccan officially . . i plan to be an outsider while being familiar with the scene.

Maybe you had connections to those scandinavian civilizations in a past life. When you open your mind and potential your past life experiences starts manifesting and you feel a mysterious interest towards them. If you concentrate you may understand some parts of it...

Lots of occult knowledge is kept secret for this reason. What is exposed to the public is the little bit which is potentially harmless. That is why it is called Occult; to be known by a selected few.

It is happening out there since 1952 and still going on. But the oppression seems to wane gradually. But still I don't know how the situation would be in Sri Lanka. This thread is our second attempt to "come out of the broom closet". We have got many hate mail from those "fundementalists" to our blog site.

I'm also not initiated to any coven yet. I'm just "self initiated" and ecclectic. Some people does not consider self initiation as "properly initiated" . Also I seek entrance to a coven to be initiated properly. But it seems to be necessory to go to England to get properly initiated.

It is hard to give a direct answer. I could believe if I know it properly and have used it and got results from it.

There are some people on this earth who want to do things by themselves, like "Walas Maama". I'm also like that. So I should first learn it properly. Then I have to experiment it.

If it works, I could think of believing it.

So, at this moment I don't believe it. But I don't disbelief it or reject it.
It could be alright. But I don't know for sure...

There were many wonderful events, I will share one of the first experiences. This is a personnal experience which is hard to explain in words.

I was interested on the occult for some time. Then I was developing an astrology software and had the oppertunity to read some of my grandfathers books. I also found some books on many other occult subjects on my grandfathers book closet.

Those days I joined a metaphysical occult web forum called theenigmaleague.net . I met many people who are interested on different occult subjects. I could make lots of friends who had simillar interests as me. Many of them were Wiccan.

Then I was not on a position to identify myself as a follower of Wicca as a religion.

One day I received an eBook on Italian Strega (A.K.A Dianic Wicca) from a girl I met on this web forum. It was a very beautiful book of poems. (Dianic Wicca is generelly known as a more feminine religion nowadays...)

One day I have read an invocation(=a kind of spell) to Goddess Diana from that book. Soon I felt a Magickal inspiration inside me and around me. I started seeing the world in a new way. I felt the presence of the Goddess around me. Still I feel an admiration to Goddess Diana.
