Windows 10 Mobile preview build 14342 released to Fast ring Insiders

    windows-10-mobile-lumia-start.jpg

We are excited to announce that we have added 3 new devices to the list of devices capable of receiving updates from our Development Branch as part of the Windows Insider Program: Lumia Icon, BLU Win HD LTE 150e, and BLU Win JR 130e.
Do be aware that, due to a bug, you will see this update show up as build number 10.0.0.1001 instead of 10.0.14342.1001 in the "Phone update" portion of the Settings app.

Here’s what’s fixed and broken in Windows 10 Mobile Build 14342

    See the full list below:

    • We fixed an issue causing installation of mobile builds to fail with Error 80070002.
    • Language and Speech Packs should download without any errors.
    • We have fixed the issue causing DRM-protected content from services like Groove Music, Microsoft Movies & TV, Netflix, Amazon Instant Video or Hulu to fail on playback with 0x8004C029 or 0x8004C503 errors.
    • We fixed the issue where some users with some non-English keyboards were not able to enter letters such as w, y, and a when typing into the address bar of the Edge browser.
    • We fixed the issue causing your phone to lock up and reboot when it receives a notification from an app that has “Keep notifications private on the lock screen” turned on under Settings > System > Notifications & actions.
    • We increased font size and improved spacing of the data migration page after receiving an update.
    • Polished icons used to identify pages in the Settings app – in particular, updated battery icon to be more consistent with the weight of the other icons.
    • Improved performance when retrieving updated GPS coordinates while driving.
    • Goodbye message on shutdown will now remain visible until the last moment, to make it easier to determine when your device is off.
    • Polished the look of media controls on the Lock screen. When you press one of the media control buttons, it appears “pressed”.
    • We fixed an issue where some apps, including Tweetium, would crash on launch.
    • We fixed an issue where Action Center’s context menus would appear in the wrong orientation if the app underneath was in landscape mode.
    • We fixed an issue where Lumia 435, 532, 535 and 540 would fail to record video, as well as an issue where advanced camera settings were not preserved when taking a photo with the Lumia 435, resulting in the photo being taken with default settings instead.
    • Fixed an issue where the same device might be listed multiple times under Connect.
    • Fixed an issue where quickly pressing the power button twice when Windows Hello is enabled could result in the display appearing stuck off.
    • We fixed the issue where Groove Music might show an error saying “Can’t play – Another app is controlling your sound right now”.
    • When delayed lock is setup, Windows Hello will now say “Swipe up to dismiss the lock screen”, rather than looking for your iris.
    • We fixed an issue where Glance wouldn’t be displayed when hovering hand over proximity sensor.
    • We fixed an issue where multiple UWPs might start crashing on launch after getting stuck on their splash screen.

As usual, the update also introduces a number of known issues which can find below:

    • We are investigating data issues with some Dual-SIM devices where cellular data doesn’t work correctly with a second SIM.
    • Feedback Hub is not localized and the UI will be in English (U.S.) only, even with language packs installed.
    • We have reduced the number of instances where boxes are seen when entering emoji. You may still see them in some text fields – we’re working on it!
    • The Settings app may crash when you are re-arranging Quick Actions under Settings > System > Notification & actions. If it does, it could result in one of the Quick Action spots disappearing. If you see this happen, please refrain from changing your Quick Action settings on this build. If you have been impacted by this issue, only a hard reset will revert your Quick Action settings back to default.

Insiders in the Fast Ring can download the update by going to Settings > Update & Security and checking for updates.

Here is what’s new in Windows 10 Mobile Build 14342

Swipe navigation in Microsoft Edge: Since the release of Windows 10 Mobile, our top feedback request for Microsoft Edge has been asking for the return of the swipe gesture to navigate back and forward. With this build, you can now swipe from anywhere on the page to get back to your previous page.
Apps for websites: As we discussed at Build 2016, you will soon be able to redirect certain websites to open with an app instead. This is a new capability so apps that support this are still in progress. In preparation for their availability we have added a new page at Settings > System > Apps for websites where you will be able to manage them. Stay tuned for more on this.
Feedback Hub improvements: We’ve heard from you that it can sometimes be hard to find which category your feedback belongs in. Now when you create new feedback, the Feedback Hub will suggest categories and subcategories based on the title and description you entered. If you see a suggestion that looks right, just click it to fill in the menus and get your feedback to the right engineers quickly.

How To Flash Windows Phone 8.0

    මේක පොඩ්ඩක් බලපල්ලකො
    අපිටම මෙහෙම ෆ්ලෑෂ් කරගන්න පුලුවන්ද...?
    nokiya care එකකට ගියත් කරන්නේ මේකමද...?
    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

How To Flash Windows Phone 8.0

In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to flash Windows Phone 8.0 on a Windows Phone by Nokia / Microsoft. This is very useful in three ways, first of all if you want to update to Windows Phone 8.1 official but still rock the Developer Preview you will have to go back to 8.0 to get the official update because Microsoft hasn’t released a fix yet so that you can update directly. Secondly if you have a branded device you can unbrand it with this method and have a country variant firmware on your device, the last thing is, that if the Update is already available in another country than yours, you can download the firmware of this country and install the Update. If you’re going to do that, you have to follow exactly these steps so that nothing goes wrong. I won’t be responsible for any potential damage that could be caused by flashing your device, also keep in mind that this could be voiding the warranty of your Windows Phone. Note that you won’t be able to use your device for about 1 hour until everything is completed and be sure that your battery is around 100% because all this steps use a lot of battery.
    1. At first we will have to do a back up of the settings and app data of your device, to do that go to settings –> backup –> apps+settings and there you have to click on ‘back up now’, this can take some time. After the back up make some screenshots of your start screen if you like your current start screen because you will have to reorder your apps when this is done.
    2. After you’ve done this connect your phone to the PC and copy all your files like photos, music, videos & documents to the PC because with flashing all your files get erased, after you’ve done this you can disconnect it again.
    3. Go to the Nokia Page and check out where the Update is already available so that you know which firmware you’ll have to download. After you know which firmware you want you have to find out the RM-Number and the Product code for this Firmware, you can do this by just binging for it or looking up at Seidea, a pretty neat page which has listed all RM-Numbers with their Product Codes sorted by phone model.
    4. The next step will be to download Nokia Care Suite 5.1.83.1414 and the Nokia Data Package Manager which we will need to actually download the firmware. After you’ve downloaded both extract the .zip file and install both programs, when you extract the .zip file there will also be a “UserGroupsConfiguration.cfg” file which you’ll have to copy in the following folders after you’ve installed Nokia Care Suite and Nokia Data package manager:
    Windows x86 (32 bit) PC
    C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Data Package Manager\bin
    C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Multi Software Updater 5.0
    C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0
    Windows x64 (64 bit) PC
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Data Package Manager\bin
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Multi Software Updater 5.0
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0
You need this file so that you can login to these programs even without entering a username or a password.
    5. Next step is to start the Nokia Data Package Manger, at the login window don’t insert anything just click okay. When it’s started insert the Product Code and the RM-Number you’ve looked up and start the download, this should take about 10 minutes.
    6. After downloading the firmware we have to flash it on the device, for this step we disconnect the phone from the PC and start the ‘Nokia Care Suite’ and there we click on ‘Nokia Product Support Tool’, there will come again a small window to login, this time just click ‘work offline’
When logging in to Nokia Product Support Tool, just click ‘Work Offline’
    7. Now you have to click on ‘file’ and ‘open product’, there you have to choose the device which you have downloaded the firmware for, in my case as you can see on the screenshot it’s a Nokia Lumia 920 with the RM-821. After you’ve chosen your device click on open.

    8. After that click on ‘Programming’ in the lower left and on ‘Recovery’ so that the Nokia Product Support Tool means your phone is dead an you can flash it without any problems.
    9. Next when you can’t see your downloaded firmware yet, click on update list and then you should be able to see the firmware with the exact same Product Code and RM-Number of the firmware you’ve downloaded.
    10. Now before connecting your phone to the PC for flashing, click on ‘Start’ until an error message appears, now you can, while pressing volume down (you won’t need the power button because it turns on automatically when you connect your phone) connect your phone with the PC until it vibrates and then click on ‘Retry’ at the error message.
Hold Volume Down while connecting your phone to the PC and click on ‘Retry’
    11. The Nokia Product Support Tool will throw out another error message, but there you’ll have to click ok and it it will finally start flashing your device.
When the error message appears just click ‘OK’ to continue with flashing
Flashing it self should take about 5 minutes but can take longer
    12. When your device has finished flashing and restarts, don’t login to your Microsoft Account or anything just go to settings and download all available updates, when you’re finally on Windows Phone 8.1 go to Settings –> about and click on ‘reset your phone’ we will do this for the following reason, when you have flashed your device you have Windows Phone 8.0 and you can’t load the whole back up so we first update to Windows Phone 8.1 so that if you load the back up all your personal settings will be back.
