its not an accurate measurement.. I have two 7200RPM HDDs in RAID0. but still i have 5.9. i have seen in some forums they have mentioned that any value above the 5.9 would be only given to SSD..

either raid or rpm doesnt involve in this counting
i think
its based on, head read/write ratio from buffer
max buffer amount
