How can you compare linux with windows?
Linux almost runs on any "device", if you want to talk about linux for PCs just talk about a distro!
The router thats given by SLT(ZTE 831) runs on linux, not windows! :P Windows is an OS only for PCs it only works on PCs no matter how much you try you wont be able to get a windows version that runs on a router, printer or any other device (other than on mobiles you have windows CE)

You have bumped upon some windows propaganda :P there are drivers for linux if theres no drivers you can try writing some!
even MS mail servers run on linux :P:rofl:

hmmm.ur funny, in ZTE831 only the interface is handled by a shell. Its there becoz its very easy to handle. & no offense don't you know that ZTE is a bankrupt company?. Embedded technology is something else

have you ever run a linux distro, ever?
as i see there's no point in arguing with you

why argue, Microsoft co-operation is not mine or I'm not from Bell Labs neither you. so we dont need to argue, this was a educational discussion. I learnt things i didn't know. Many users can do the same. For your information I use DSL for educational proposes. Its the destro I like

Cant you see the bright directory "linuxrc"??
If you have checked out the root directory of any linux system you'd see that the directory structure is similar to the linux systems that are running on PCs
all the common directories are there,
    var,usr,mnt..etc

You were on a decision before you have even *properly* used a linux system! Thats why i said that
