What Is d best windows for home computer use?:oo:
i prefer windows xp. :D:D;);):D:yes: i have a dual-boot configuration of XP Professional 64-bit Edition & Vista Ultimate 64-bit Edition on my computer aiya.

(for general home use) if XP, i prefer:

Windows XP SP2 Home Edition or SP2 Professional....either

(for general home use) if Vista, i prefer:

    Windows Vista Home Premium Edition

ALSO partition your hard disks so that the windows installation files get stored on one and everything else you install gets installed on another partition. Apparently it is said that it improves system performance when system files and software/app files are seperately stored. =)

Wrong. It lowers system performance, unless you are using separate DRIVES, in which case it will improve performance.

really? funny because for me, it improved:confused:
Technically, it is impossible. Just think about how hard disks work. Data is spread more => more number of head movements required => SLOW! (ony place where this will not be applicable is in Solid State Drives and Gigabyte i-RAM. Where ever mechanical drives are used, spread the data more => slow! If you want performance, you need separate physical disks. (this is the same reason why pagefile SHOULD NOT BE split on the same drive! one pagefile per drive)

But in your case, it might be in your head, because you believe it will be faster and you want it to be faster. No kidding, the psychological factor plays a big role too. :)
