Vehicle:

• They are great vehicles. A lot of power and grunt. Just like many more new 4x4s which are in the market today. I presume this Montero Sport is just a more aerodynamic (or in a sense larger ) model of the Mitsubishi L200. That is how I think of it anyway ... if you look closely you will notice that they are quite similar.

Performance:

• Mitsubishi's DI-D diesel engines have been around for quite a while now and they seem to be reliable as far as I know. If you take for example a Diesel Pajero anywhere between the last four years (YOM 2007-2011) they are all DI-D Common Rail diesels.

Fuel Economy:

• With regards to fuel consumption you should be fine. By theory, you will have a better run than a Pajero Diesel (3200cc) seeing as the Montero Sport is only a 2.5L I presume around 9-10 kilometers within Colombo and perhaps 10-12 kilometers outstation. This is based on the theory that the 2500cc consumes around 9.8L/100km Then again all sorts of things affect fuel consumption such as driving conditions...the actual driver etc you get the idea In summary, I would say that the fuel economy that a Montero Sport offers, compared to other 4x4s of its size, is decent.

The Turbo Engine

• Like I mentioned previously it's similar to the L200. If you cut the roof off the Montero Sport at the rear end into a utility tray and change the rear lights a little you will have exactly that, an L200! The engine is a 4-cyl Diesel Intercooled Turbo 2.5L (2477cc) which from what I remember is also used by the L200s Am sure it will give you all the pickup you need.
