3 wheelers are very economical vehicles, specially new big diesel stuff. I get to know they are doing 38-40Km/L and 4 ppl can ride with luggage. Normal Maruti can do 17 with same 4 ppl and luggage

So for 100Kms -
Diesel 3 wheel costs Rs. 222.50
Petrol Maruti costs Rs. 805.9

Cost of maintenance of a 3wheel is negligible compared to a family car.

So as a developing country we should stick with economical methods for transport.
We should educate 3 wheel drivers and add special set of rules and big fines for abuse of road rules.
As an example, there are special set of rules for heavy vehicles and lorrys when traveling in Colombo city.

දකින්න තියෙන පිලියම ත්‍රීවිලර් ප්‍රවාහනයට විකල්පයක් හදුන්වාදී එය ක්‍රමයෙන් සමාජයෙන් ඉවත් කිරීම. මේ සදහා නැනෝ කාර් වඩා උචිත ආදේශකයක් විදියට මා දකිනවා. ඉන්දියාවෙ නැනෝ කාර් එකක් ඉන්දියානු රැපියල් ලක්ෂයක් පමනවෙන‍වා. එතකොට ලංකාවෙ මුදලින් ලක්ෂ‍ දෙක්ක කියමුකෝ. නමුත් ඇත්තටම ලංකාවෙ නැනෝ කාර් එකක් රැපියල් ලක්ෂ දොලහක්!!!! ඇයි මේක ලංකාවෙ මුදලින් ලක්ෂ‍ පහකට දෙන්න බැරි? එකට එකටත් වඩා බදු ලැබෙනවානේ

එනිසා රජය මීට වඩා මේගැන හිතලා මේ නැනෝ කාර් වල බදු අඩු කලොත් දැනට තරමක ප්‍රශ්නයක්වී තිබෙන ඉදි‍රියේදී දැවැන්ත ප්‍රශ්නයක් වන ත්‍රීවිලර් සංස්කෘතිය ලංකවෙන් අතුගා දැමිය හැකියි කියලා මට හිතෙනවා.

nano with AC comes to around 1 million. not 500K. If the govt really wants to promote local vehicles, they can re introduce the first ca that micro put out, as a taxi. That one was around 5.5K with all options and by today's prices it probably can be given at around 700K. It had a small engine, was about the same interior size as a maruti 800 and did over 18kmpl as well.

A threewheel driver or a person who's dad is a threewheel driver seems to have deducted my rep points while sending me a message written in filthy language, cos of my post I have made here. who is a good example for what I'm trying to say here.

3wheel is an economical vehicle, but 3wheel taxis arent the same. Sometimes driving a car which does 6km per liter seems to be more economical compared to 3wheel taxis.

3wheel people always makes a huge contribution towards the marijuana/heroin sale and the prostitution industry of that area as I have seen (uneducated people taking a part of the corrupted society)

the way most of the 3wheel driver's behave in the road massively increases the traffic in my opinion. they switch lanes about 5-6 times per minute! they turn off their engines during almost each stop.

If we can prevent this type of situation and promote 3wheel then it would be better. I like the concept of budget taxi.

one another quality I have observed in 3wheel drivers is, if hes trying to enter to a main road even at midnight when a vehicle would appear once per 10 minutes, this guy would want to block that vehicle and enter to the main road. which is pure selfishness.
