Chi is the energy within a person which enables bending. Its the source of all bending. What we call chakras are actually pools of chi. What if Amon found a way to block them by using psychic bloodbending. chi blocking (very advance form) and blood bending, doesn't it seem like a lethal combination to you?

Chakras deals with emotions. These particular two deal with lies and illusion. So in a sense Amon creates a lie/illusion by blocking (advance chi blocking + bloodbending). Every person have these 7 chakras. If one gets blocked it can temporary remove bending. Remember how avatar opend those seven chakras with the help of guru Pathik. Avatar needs to open them all in order to channel the wisdom and energy of his past lives. If you could apply this to normal benders on much simpler level you will see the connection on which I have based my theory. Bottom line Amon used blood bending and chi blocking (to block chakra) to temporary disable benders bending ability

Hmm... It will be much more interesting if we have a new villain. but in LAB it was based on the same villain. and set of others who work for him. so I thought next will also be based on Amon. he is too great for exist only in one season.
