Yeah in short what you have said is that Sri Lankan government doesn't support/give funds to the development of the Sri Lankan government universities..So those universities won't develop/go above in rankings.Yeah its true.:yes:

BUT you have said that "but do you really think person from simple IT institute can match knowledge of a university graduate?"

this is completely wrong..:no::no: I can only say "think twice about that" .but I doubt whether you'll realize it because you don't know the situation in a institute like SLIIT for example.

    Lol
    1. My sister went to SLIIT,because she didnt have enough marks to get in to uni.we are a middle class family. my parents had to spent awfully lot of money for SLIIT

    2. My brother in law is from SLIIT. Though now he earns about 2laks He was hired for 30000/- from vertusa few years back

    3. Perhaps you dont know that Most of SLIIT people out source their projects to undergrads from MORA and PERA. lol  . My previous boss (more like team leader) is a lecturer in SLIIT. one day my friend called me and asked me that one of his friend from SLIIT looks for someone to do their project. it was something about multiple internet connection through different ISPs to download single file. My friend asked me whether I can do it. I laughed and sayed, no I will not.:lol::lol:. Funny thing is that next day I found out that ,SLiIT guys project supervisor was my Boss :P:P:lol::lol:

So what else to talk about SLIIT??:lol::lol:

but yeah what I say is whether it is private or government university/Institute the quality/Standard is no way up to the mark.:no: and it won't be ever..

forget about Europe/Ausi/US.just talk about Asia.Ok then forget about Russia,China.just think how far is Malaysia from our education is??aren't they have a much better education than us??why top 100 university like Monash has built a branch campus over there?? isn't that a samll country?? :dull:

Branch campus are their way of earning money? or do they offer free degrees ?:lol::lol::lol::lol:

why student go to country like Bangladesh to do Medicine???
isn't that a country we classified as a bad country years ago??

why don't people let to build pvt Medical Faculties in Sri Lanka??doesn't that shows the level of Sri Lankans?? :dull:

Do you really think those students who go to bangladesh to do medicine, will go there, if they had enough marks to get in to local uni?:lol::lol::lol:.
and people with forign medical degree has to pass a local exam if they ever want to be a doctor in Sri Lanka.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Now none of the Sri Lankan universities (whther its gov or pvt) in top 2000 world rankings.I am sure non of them will be in top 5000 by 2025. :dull:

just think, take a look at the world university rankings..and get top 200 universities for example does either of those universities provide free education??either of these universities give a bachelor degree for free??juts look?no right??isn't that something to think about.

so you went to a private school also I guess. or are you another one who benefited from free education and tries to destroy it.:lol::lol:

they dont offer degree for free? lol yes, because those unis has to servive on their own. Do you think getting fees for education make a institute better? if its true then all those private schools that opened in sri lanka will be here today. but unfortunately only few survived long term.:P:P:P:lol::lol::lol:

Or perhaps you are referring to a system where student can pay lot of money and purchase a degree instead of earning it :lol::lol::lol:

well now don't say "so private universities in SL charge money so they should be in top 200" and so on.
the thing is after all its still SRI LANKANS!!! unless the whole people change completely or at least change their attitude Sri Lankan education will be like this forever or else will go down further......... :dull::dull:

Oh no I'm not naive, but you are talking like if unis charge money they will come to top 200. funny but now you say "dont tell private unis will not come to top 200 if they charge money"

so do you even have any idea what topic you are talking about :lol::lol::lol:

I see a confused young man who contradict his own statments :lol::lol::lol:

so sad, I wish you didnt reply to my post and ignore it as I asked. clearly you dont have enough brain power to understand what I was saying.

So reply only if you still think you have enough brain power.

you are still young, but when you finished learning and purchased your "degree" and looking for a job you will understand what I was saying :lol::lol:

    so pathetic

I don't know why you took my post so personally, Maybe your subconscious know the answer..

I know back in 1970s there was few people made there own planes and even fly them. I even know a guy who made a helicopter in his home few years ago ( he didn't even pass A/L ).

Why did you thought I took it personally? Does my post implies such thing? I dont think so. I was just saying what is the real situation. Perhaps its you who took my points personally :lol::lol:, may be in deep down you know what I said is true :lol::lol::lol:

Anyway sad to read your reply and having to judge your knowledge.
I'm not talking about those toy planes and helis. This is the real deal. one day you will see it on TV, but if you want to know before that go to defense ministry and get clearance, then I'll tell you what it is :lol::lol::lol:
    pathetic :lol::lol::lol:

If you say I'm just a stupid IT guy from a pathetic private institute. MAybe you are right. But people in my profession never complain and shout which we can't change.
Yet these stupid IT guys bring more money than engineers who took free education and left the country,

again I say what ever or where ever you study you can't be the better man if you can't be humble.

so what is your profession?:rofl: and you are saying goofs from IJTS are better??:lol::lol:

ane machan umba oya use karana computer eke intel processor ekai umbe oya phone eke thiyana processor tikai, designs api haraha thamyi yanne :lol::lol::lol:

SO pathetic :lol::lol::lol: and good luck

Agree with you 100% machan. These guys don't seem to have a clue on the situation in SL. If you have a look at the SL's IT industry, it's lead by those so called low quality government uni graduates from Mora, Pera, UCSC and ruhuna. If you have a look at a company like WSO2 or Virtusa, they do consulting to customers (those who've follwed degrees at Harvard etc) in US and european countries. Just at least visit some of those companies' websites and have a look at what they are doing. Those are totally sri lankan and majority is from govt unis.

And the reason why there are no companies in some of the fields (mech, materials eng) is that there are no investors interested in putting up companies here due to the economic and political situation. Just think about it - engineers mostly 'work' for companies and investors/businessmen are the people who put up companies. Not having companies doesn't mean that there are no good engineers. In fact, there are many graduates who do higher studies (M.Sc./ Ph.D.) in those top ranked unis in abroad after graduating from govt unis. Also when you do very well in A/L's u can get scholarships from top ranked unis abroad to do your studies, but most people prefer to stay here and go to mora/pera (at least in our time that happened - only one or two people went abroad) coz they are in SL and they prefer staying in this country.

Yeah I can also confirm one thing - most of those APIIT and private uni students in SL most of the time 'outsource' their projects to govt uni students. I know this coz some of my friends at mora did those to earn some pocket money. :)

another thing - when you say local unis don't have reputation abroad, i want to ask one question - do most of those foreign employers know even there's a country named sri lanka?
unfortunately, most of the time the answer is 'no'. So you can figure out one big reason why our unis are not known abroad in the first place.

I'm also from moratuwa so this may seem a bit biased - but I said what is obvious to anyone operating in these fields in SL.
