Official: Real Madrid sign Chicharito on loan

    445388_heroa.jpg

Real Madrid have confirmed that they have secured the services of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez on loan from Manchester United for the 2014-15 campaign, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

Madrid were in the market for a new striker following the exit of Alvaro Morata to Juventus earlier this summer and they have now found the back-up for main striker Karim Benzema that head coach Carlo Ancelotti had requested.

On Monday, Madrid confirmed the deal for the Mexico international, who has failed to nail down a first-team spot at Old Trafford.

"Real Madrid and Manchester United have reached an agreement over the loan deal of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who will be playing for Madrid this season," a statement on the club's official website reads.

"Madrid have an option to buy the player outright.

"Javier Hernandez will be unveiled to the media in the press room Monday at 16:30CET."

The 26-year-old had joine United from Guadalajar in the summer of 2010 and had since made over 100 Premier League appearances for the Premier League outfit.

Nevertheless, he made the majority of his appearances coming off the bench due to the presence of Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie at the club and he was keen to move on following the imminent arrival of Radamel Falcao from Monaco.

Hernandez won two Premier League titles during his time in England.

    Latest from the Emirates

"Barring a late surprise, Arsenal are highly unlikely to make any signings before the transfer window closes. They remain in a number of conversations as they search for a back-up central defender and a holding midfielder, but currently it looks like nobody will be arriving at Emirates Stadium. So that also means no new striker despite the absence of Olivier Giroud until the new year through injury.(BBC):dull:

Ronaldo: I can’t say what I really think about Real Madrid reshaping

    451362_heroa.jpg

Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed he "can't say what he thinks" about Real Madrid's summer transfer moves but hinted he was unhappy at the way the club have reshaped their squad.

Xabi Alonso, Angel Di Maria, Diego Lopez and Alvaro Morata have all left the Bernabeu, while Monday saw the reigning European champions make their fourth major signing with Javier Hernandez joining recent arrivals Keylor Navas, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez.

Fifa Ballon d’Or and Goal 50 winner Ronaldo certainly didn’t offer a glowing endorsement to the club’s activity in the current transfer window which closes tonight.

"I have my strong opinions, but I can’t always say what I think. Otherwise, tomorrow it would be on the front pages and I don’t want that,” he told the press at a media event for watchmaker Tag Heuer.

“But if the president thinks the best for the team is to sign players who joined and leave out others, we must respect and support his decisions.”

The 29-year-old Portugal international admitted the changes in personnel would inevitably result in a change in the team’s style - while the losses of Di Maria and Alonso, cornerstones of the club's Decima success last term to Manchester United and Bayern Munich respectively, would be keenly felt.

“With all the new players the style will change, for better or worse” he said.

“Di Maria and Xabi were very important to us but now they are gone and we should be happy with the new players. I'm sure we'll be fine.”

Ronaldo is currently recovering from a knee injury that saw him sit out his side’s surprise 4-2 defeat to Real Sociedad at the weekend, but says he expects to back within a week.

“Yesterday I went for a run. I'm sure in a week I'll be back one hundred percent,” he said, before warning his team-mates they cannot repeat the complacent performance that saw them lose a two-goal lead on Sunday.

“It was a strange game, we were 2-0 up after minutes, but then things changed. We have taken it as a lesson that we cannot think a match is already won. We must fight to the end.”

QPR set to sign Borini after Lens bid fails

    402612_heroa.jpg

Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is set to join QPR, who have switched their attention to the Italian after they had a bid for Dutch star Jeremain Lens rejected, Goal understands.

The Loftus Road club sold Loic Remy, who spent last season at Newcastle, to Chelsea on Sunday and subsequently entered the market to find a deadline-day replacement.

Newly promoted QPR were linked with a move for former West Ham and Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe, who is currently playing for Toronto FC, and unsuccessfully bid for Lens of Dynamo Kiev.

Harry Redknapp appears to have had more luck in his pursuit of Borini, who impressed last season while on loan at Sunderland.

The Black Cats agreed a €17 million fee for the Italian's permanent transfer earlier this summer but Borini looked set to opt to stay at Anfield and fight for a first-team place.

Now, though, he is heading to west London for a medical before completing what is likely to be a season-long loan deal.

Borini netted 10 goals in 40 games for Sunderland last season and also enjoyed productive spells at Swansea and Roma while still a Chelsea player.

He managed only two goals in 20 games after joining Brendan Rodgers at Liverpool, however, and found himself restricted to a bit-part role on Merseyside.

    Official: Jose Sosa joins Besiktas

    451318_heroa.jpg

Argentina international Jose Sosa has joined Besiktas from FC Metalist, signing a one-year loan deal.

The 29-year-old midfielder, who joined Metalist from Napoli in 2011, spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, winning the Liga title with Diego Simeone’s side.

And on Monday afternoon Besiktas confirmed his arrival via a statement on their official website.

"I was told good things about Besiktas and their fans," Sosa said. "I am very happy to be here."

The Turkish giants will pay a €1.4 million loan fee, with the option to make the transfer permanent for an additional €2 million.

Sosa was a late addition to the Argentina squad at World Cup 2014 and, following injuries to the likes of Angel Di Maria, became a regular in the side that eventually ended runners-up after going down 1-0 to Germany in the final.

He joins fellow recent arrivals Demba Ba, Ramon Motta and Gokhan Tore as the club prepare to challenge for what would be their first league title since 2009.

Slaven Bilic’s side opened their Turkish Super Lig campaign last week with a 1-0 victory over Mersin İdmanyurdu.

Official: Chelsea's Chalobah joins Burnley on loan

    451302_heroa.jpg

Chelsea midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has joined Burnley on loan until January.

The 19-year-old spent last season at Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough but is yet to make a Premier League appearance.

The England Under 21 international, who can play in central midfield or at centre-back, is Burnley boss Sean Dyche's eighth signing since the Clarets secured their place in the Premier League.

    BwdIW7hIgAAJaWp.jpg:large

The Chalobah was born in Sierra Leone but has become a regular England youth player and, having come through the club's academy, signed a new five-year contract with Chelsea last year.

Chalobah has also spent time on loan at Watford in the second tier, making 38 appearances and scoring five goals for the Hornets during the 2012-13 campaign.

Earlier reports on transfer deadline day had linked Burnley with a potential move for Manchester United midfielder Anderson.

Chicharito: Madrid move a dream come true

    450761_heroa.jpg

Manchester United loanee Javier Hernandez has admitted that joining Real Madrid is a dream come true for him and is keen to prove the Santiago Bernabeu side were right to sign him.

The Mexico international has failed to nail down a regular spot in the United first-team since joining in summer 2010 and signed for Carlo Ancelotti's side on a one-year loan deal on Monday after passing his medical.

Hernandez says he is keen to get started and prove his worth at his new club and insists he doesn't feel pressure in following in the footsteps of compatriot Hugo Sanchez, who won five league titles in the seven years he spent at the club.

"I am delighted to be here and grateful to Real Madrid for giving me this chance. I will do everything I can to help the team. Playing for Real Madrid is a dream come true. Everybody in the world knows Real Madrid," Hernandez said at a press conference.

"Hugo Sanchez had a great career here, but I want to do my own thing and make a name for myself. I will give my all to repay Madrid for the confidence shown in me. I want to win titles with Madrid.

"A big team cannot rely on one player. You need a team to be successful. And out of all the big clubs in the world, Real Madrid are the biggest."

The 26-year-old could make his official Madrid debut in the Liga match against at home against Atletico after the international break on September 13.

    Valencia closing in on Guarin

    444561_heroa.jpg

Valencia are closing in on the signing of Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin on a one-year loan deal with a commitment to buy the Colombia international for a transfer fee between €15 million and €20m.

The Primera Division outfit are keen to add some fresh blood to their midfield before the transfer window closes on Monday and they see the 28-year-old Guarin as a valuable addition to their squad.

Guarin was close to leaving Inter for Juventus last season, but the deal eventually fell through as both sides failed to reach an agreement.

The former Porto man then signed a new contract with Inter until June 2017, but the Giuseppe Meazza outfit remained keen to sell Guarin for the right price.

Guarin now seems destined to continue his career at Valencia after the Spaniards eventually agreed to the inclusion of an obligatory buy clause in the loan deal.

The only remaining talking point is the transfer fee, with Valencia initially hoping to lure Guarin away from his current club for €15m, whereas Inter had set a €20m asking price.

Both clubs are ready to move toward a fee somewhere in the middle, however, and it appears to be only a matter of hours before the deal is done.

    Official: Tottenham sign Stambouli

    450258_heroa.jpg

Tottenham have completed the signing of Montpellier midfielder Benjamin Stambouli, the Premier League side has confirmed.

The 24-year-old underwent a medical and formalised his move to White Hart Lane on transfer deadline day, with the former France Under-21 international signing a five-year deal.

Montpeiller present Louis Nicollin confirmed the move earlier in the day - telling reporters: "Stambouli to Tottenham, it's official." - with Spurs following suit soon after.

    BwdeynEIQAAjabB.jpg

Stambouli becomes the club's sixth signing of the summer, following the acquisitions of Michel Vorm, Eric Dier, Ben Davies, DeAndre Yedlin and Federico Fazio.

The arrival of Stambouli, a tough-tackling defensive midfielder, is expected signal the end of Spurs' pursuit of Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin.

Pochettino was interested in securing the services of the Saints star and was prepared to make him his most expensive arrival this summer, but manager Ronald Koeman has been vocal in his reluctance to sell.

The Montpellier man has made 14 appearances for the France Under-21 side, though he has yet to earn a call-up to the senior national team.

Official: Holtby joins Hamburg on loan

    451218_heroa.jpg

at the end of the season
Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has joined Hamburg on a season-long loan deal.

Goal exclusively revealed in August that the Bundesliga outfit were eyeing a move for the German, with Hamburg retaining the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

A permanent contract starting in 2015 has already been agreed and would require no negotiations should the German side activate the clause to buy him at the end of this campaign, Goal understands.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season at Fulham after falling out of favour under both Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood and has been afforded just one substitute appearance under new boss Mauricio Pochettino this term.

Cristian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Nacer Chadli are currently ahead of Holtby in the pecking order and the attacking midfielder was an unused substitute in recent Premier League clashes with QPR and Liverpool.

Rossi to have more knee surgery

    415542_heroa.jpg

Fiorentina have confirmed that striker Giuseppe Rossi will need further surgery on his troublesome right knee.

The Italy international has seen his career blighted by serious injuries, with the latest setback meaning he faces a fourth lengthy spell out due to operations on the same joint.

The 27-year-old first suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage in October 2011 while playing for Villarreal in La Liga. He reinjured the knee as he stepped up his comeback in April 2012, meaning he missed out on his national team’s assault on Euro 2012.After signing for Fiorentina in January 2013 and making his debut in May of that year, Rossi initially appeared to have overcome his knee troubles. But he then strained the medial collateral ligament in January 2014, keeping him out for four months.

He will now have keyhole surgery after receiving a negative diagnosis from a specialist in London following a reoccurrence of knee trouble in pre-season training.

Rossi has netted 17 goals in 25 appearances for Vincenzo Montella’s side, but has missed a total of 52 competitive fixtures already since signing for the club. There is currently no clear timescale for his latest lay-off.

Official: Jonathan Biabiany joins AC Milan

    440595_heroa.jpg

AC Milan have confirmed the capture of Jonathan Biabiany from Parma in a deal that will see Cristian Zaccardo move in the opposite direction.

The 26-year-old began his playing career in Serie A with city rivals Inter and will bolster the Rossoneri frontline further following the capture of Fernando Torres from Chelsea on a two-year loan deal.

The French forward almost joined Milan in the January transfer window but the move collapsed after the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement.

The switch will see 32-year-old former Italy international Zacardo, who arrived in Milan from Parma in 2013, return to the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

Milan forward M’Baye Niang was also reported to be involved in the deal, with the 19-year-old said to be set for a loan switch to Parma following a brief spell back in his native France with Montpellier earlier this year.

It appears Niang will now remain at San Siro after the club informed Parma they were unwilling to let the youngster leave.

Official: Atletico Madrid finalise Cerci signing

    433293_heroa.jpg

Atletico Madrid have finalised the signing of forward Alessio Cerci from Torino for an undisclosed fee.

The Italy international completed his medical early on Monday in the Spanish capital before signing a three-year deal after the two clubs agreed a fee over the weekend.

Cerci says he is "very proud" to have joined the league champions and believes he can continue to develop as a player under Diego Simeone.

"Atleti are a team that is still evolving and always wants to win, so I'm very proud to be here," the 27-year-old told the club's official website.

"I'm very happy for the great reception I've had. I hope that this season brings plenty of success. Atletico gave me a great opportunity and I want to show what I'm worth."

Atleti sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero admits the club have gone to great efforts to bring in the likes of Cerci this summer to sustain their place at the summit of Spanish football but is confident their work will pay dividends.

"The agreement with Torino to sign Cerci is a joy for all of us," he said. "It was a clear objective for us to finish reinforcing our squad before we have to face the challenges that lie ahead this season.

"We have had to make a great effort after all the business we have done this summer, but we're convinced it was worth it because he will be a key piece for us this season. He provides an overlap, pace, goals... he will allow us more alternatives in our attacking game."

Cerci, who has notched 21 goals and 19 assists over the past two campaigns with Torino, was part of the Italy squad at this summer's World Cup.

    Javi Martinez successfully undergoes surgery

    444766_heroa.jpg

Bayern Munich have announced that Javi Martinez has returned to Germany after successfully undergoing surgery on his knee in the USA.

The Spain international suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the German Super Cup in Dortmund earlier this month and will consequently be sidelined for the remainder of 2014.

Nevertheless, he is now ready to take the next step in his recovery after his successful operation.

"Javi Martinez will today return to Germany from the USA. His surgery went well. #Getwellsoon #MiaSanMia," a tweet from the club's official account reads.

Martinez joined Bayern from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2012 and has won two Bundesliga titles, as many DFB Pokals, the Champions League and the Club World Cup with the Bavarians.

The holding midfielder's injury prompted Bayern to add two more players to their squad last week, with Mehdi Benatia and Xabi Alonso leaving Roma and Real Madrid respectively for the Bundesliga champions.
