Official: Hull City sign Abel Hernandez

    440832_heroa.jpg

Hull City have announced the signing of Abel Hernandez from Palermo for a club-record fee.

The striker has penned a three-year deal, with the Tigers retaining the option of a fourth, to become the club's eighth summer signing on deadline day in a €12 million deal.

As revealed on Wednesday, Bruce turned his attention to the Uruguay international as Shane Long's replacement after Blackburn rebuffed the Premier League side's offers for Jordan Rhodes.

"Abel is a fantastic signing and highlights just how far the Club has come in such a short space of time," manager Steve Bruce told the club's official website.

"He is an exciting talent and like myself, I’m sure the supporters can’t wait to see him in action."

Hernandez's arrivals marks the second time the club have broken their transfer record this summer following the €10m deal to make former loanee Jake Livermore's move from Tottenham permanent.

Cech refuses to rule out Chelsea exit

    446788_heroa.jpg

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has refused to rule out the possibility of leaving Stamford Bridge after being displaced by Thibaut Courtois.

The 32-year-old keeper, who has been at Chelsea for over a decade, has found himself second choice to Courtois this season following the Belgian's return from Atletico Madrid, where he spent three years on loan, winning La Liga and reaching the Champions League final.

Despite insisting that he has no pressing desire to leave with two years still remaining on his deal, Cech did concede that a transfer was a possibility.

"I've been at the club for 10 years, the situation is now new to me," he told sport.cz while on international duty with Czech Republic.

"The three opening matches I could not play for the team. I have no reason to panic, pack up and leave. I am a Chelsea player, where I have two more years of contract.

"In football, nothing can be predicted in advance, nothing is ever perfect. A lot of players go on representative duty, yet still many transfer clubs.

"The offer would have to be right for everyone. I do not exclude anything [or] know the answer."

Much had been made of the tussle between Cech and Courtois for the number one jersey, with the latter getting the nod for the opening-game triumph at Burnley.

He was retained for the Leicester City game and kept a clean sheet before conceding three times in Chelsea's nine-goal thriller against Everton on Sunday.

Cech, who signed from Rennes in 2004, is sixth in the club's list of all-time appearance makers.

Agger thanks Liverpool fans in open letter

    408443_heroa.jpg

Daniel Agger has written an open letter to Liverpool supporters after calling time on his eight-and-a-half year career at Anfield.

The Dane has completed a move which sees him return to Brondby, the only other club he has played for besides the Reds, after admitting that his body could no longer deal with the physicality of the English game.

The 29-year-old, who had 'YNWA' tatooed on his hand to show his affection for Liverpool, wrote: "Liverpool has been such a big part of my life and my family’s lives for so long that leaving is extremely difficult.

"I’ll start by saying that Liverpool fans constantly keep surprising me. Since the news broke about the transfer, I have received so many positive messages and well-wishing for the future – not just from supporters in Liverpool but across the world.

"My family and I have always felt your backing, it is something unique to this football club, this city and our supporters – it’s been a privilege to have represented this club and I’m forever thankful for everything I have learnt during my time here.

"When I joined this great club, I came here as a 21 year old boy with a lot to learn. Liverpool has helped me grow up and shape me into the man I am today. I’m proud of who I’ve become and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without my time at Liverpool.

"I’ve been honoured to live in this close knit city and my experiences as a Liverpudlian are unforgettable. I’d finally like to wish the club all the best for this season. I’ll be supporting you every step of the way, as will millions of others. You’ll Never Walk Alone."
Agger departs having made 232 appearances and scoring 14 goals for Liverpool, winning the League Cup and Community Shield in the process.

I'm not sending Balotelli a message - Conte

    448904_heroa.jpg

Italy coach Antonio Conte insists he was not trying to send a message to Mario Balotelli by omitting the striker from his first squad.

The Liverpool new boy was the most notable absentee from Conte's selection for forthcoming fixtures against the Netherlands and Norway. But Conte says he had no motive to leave Balotelli out of his plans, stressing players must earn the right to represent Italy.

"We have been monitoring every match," he said. "The call-ups are based on those we observed, with those we had footballing evidence on."Is it a message? I do not have to send any messages. Those who know me know how I work - I do not present gifts to anyone.

"Today I have here 26 guys and I have told them that they must earn this shirt. I will behave as I have always done, there is no pre-condition for anyone."Those who are in the national team should know what it takes to be here and be conscious of the weight of this shirt, its importance."

Conte, who took over from Cesare Prandelli following the World Cup, also expressed his pride at leading his first training session on Monday."This is definitely a special day," he added. "I entered Coverciano [Italy's national training centre] for the first time with the Under-15s side and to come back now as a coach is beautiful.

"This is a centre that makes me shudder, it takes me back 30 years. It is something nice."It is a formative experience, a competition with myself and I am sure that I will be able to communicate my concepts."

Italy face the Netherlands in a friendly on Thursday before kicking off their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign in Norway five days later.

    Official: Swansea sign Modou Barrow

    407888_heroa.jpg

Swansea City have completed the signing of Ostersunds FK striker Modou Barrow, the club have announced.

The 21-year-old, who scored 10 goals last season, has signed a performance-related contract and will join up with the club’s Under-21 squad ahead of their game with Birmingham on Monday evening.

"I'm delighted to be here," he told the club’s official website upon completing his deal. "I now can’t wait to get going and improve each day in training and try to score some goals.

"I like the way Swansea play football, it reminds me of how I used to play back home. I’ve watched a lot of their games on TV and I was impressed with what I saw.

"They like to give young players a chance and hopefully I can progress here."

Swansea have bolstered their squad significantly ahead of the transfer deadline, with former Tottenham midfielder Giancarlo Gallifuoco and ex-Nottingham Forest striker James Demetriou joining the club at the end of last week.

    Yanga-Mbiwa agrees Roma loan move

    410154_heroa.jpg

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has agreed to join Roma from Newcastle on a season-long loan, Goal understands.

The centre-back fell down the pecking order under Alan Pardew last season and is yet to make an appearance for the club in the 2014-15 season.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a medical on deadline day, Yanga-Mbiwa expressed his excitement at joining the Serie A side, saying: “I am very happy to be at Roma and couldn’t wait to get here. I have already spoken to Rudi Garcia on the phone over the last few days.

    “I am ready, Forza Roma!”

The Magpies have already bolstered their defence with the signing of Daryl Janmaat this summer and Pardew has favoured Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini this season, with Yanga-Mbiwa deemed surplus to requirements.

The 25-year-old will remain in Italy for the entirety of their Serie A campaign and it is understood that Roma will pay a portion of his wages while he is at Stadio Olimpico.

Should Yanga-Mbiwa complete his move before the transfer deadline, he could make his debut in Roma's clash with Empoli after the international break.

    :shocked:Carvalho rules out Arsenal move

    387309_heroa.jpg

Sporting midfielder William Carvalho has ruled out the possibility of a deadline day move to Arsenal.

It was revealed on Saturday that the Gunners had tabled an improved €27 million bid for the Portugal international as Arsene Wenger looked to recruit a midfielder with physical presence.

But now the 22-year-old - who has also been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea this summer - has now gone public to reiterate his commitment to Sporting for the foreseeable future.

"I am under contract with Sporting and I'm a Sporting player," he told A Bola. "There is no way I can say I am going to leave. I am fine at Sporting."

Arsene Wenger will spend the final few hours of the transfer window refereeing a charity 'Match For Peace' in Rome and club sources do not expect a busy day in terms of arrivals.

Sevilla 'will not listen' to offers for Bacca

    450662_heroa.jpg

Sevilla chairman Jose Castro has dismissed reports linking Carlos Bacca with a move away from the club, insisting the they are not interested in selling him.

It was revealed on Sunday that Arsenal were lining up a bid for the Colombia international, but the Liga club have stated they "will not listen" to offers for the frontman.

Castro told reporters: "There aren't bids for Bacca and we are not going to listen them. His salary increase is an internal matter and we are not going to talk about it."

It is understood that Arsenal are not expecting much in the way of transfer business on Monday, as the transfer deadline comes into view, while Arsene Wenger is expected to spend the evening in Rome, refereeing a charity football match.

The Gunners lost Olivier Giroud to injury for up to four months and although there is pressure from supporters of the club to add to their strikeforce, Wenger has repeatedly stated that he is reluctant to panic buy.

    Latest from the Emirates

"Barring a late surprise, Arsenal are highly unlikely to make any signings before the transfer window closes. So that also means no new striker despite the absence of Olivier Giroud until the new year through injury.(BBC):dull:

    AC Milan's Biabiany deal collapses

    440595_heroa.jpg

AC Milan's capture of Jonathan Biabiany from Parma has fallen through after Cristian Zaccardo decided not to move the other way in a swap deal.

The 26-year-old winger had been pictured in Milan club apparel after agreeing to a deal that would have seen the 18-time Italian champions pay up to €5 million for his services.

However, Zaccardo declined the opportunity to return to Parma, bringing an end to the agreed swap deal and leaving the Rossoneri red-faced following their decision to announce the Biabiany deal before hearing word of Zaccardo's decision.

The French forward almost joined Milan in the January transfer window but the move collapsed after the two clubs were unable to reach an agreement, and the latest near-miss could bring an end to any hope of the club eventually making Biabiany their player.

Milan have confirmed, though, that Fernando Torres will be unveiled as their player on Tuesday evening after completing a loan switch from Chelsea. The Spain international striker will remain with the club for two years, while Marco van Ginkel joins on loan from the Stamford Bridge side.

:cool:Falcao arrives to complete Manchester United move

    448885_heroa.jpg

Radamel Falcao has arrived at Manchester United’s training ground to complete his season-long loan move from Monaco.

The 28-year-old will undergo a medical and finalise the terms of his switch before the transfer window closes at 11pm.

Goal understands that United will pay a £10 million-plus fee for the Colombia international, as well as a significant part of his £300,000-a-week salary.

United are also expected to complete a deal for Ajax defender Daley Blind before the deadline which will take United’s total spending this summer to a figure close to £160m.

Manchester City appeared to be closing in on the signing of Falcao after the striker’s proposed move to Real Madrid fell through at the end of last week.

The Colombian, who required surgery to repair a damaged anterior cruciate ligament in January, was targeted by City as a replacement for Alvaro Negredo, who has agreed to join Valencia on loan.

Arsneal manager Arsene Wenger had also sanctioned a pursuit of Falcao with the same agreement as United have reached with Monaco.

QPR target loan move for Arsenal's Coquelin

    255856_heroa.jpg

QPR have opened talks with Arsenal over a loan move for midfielder Francis Coquelin, Goal understands.

Rangers have made a late push for the 23-year-old Frenchman after a deal to sign ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Lassana Diarra collapsed.

The Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder had appeared set to join the newly promoted Londoners but the move fell through on deadline day.

Harry Redknapp has now sanctioned a swoop for Coquelin, who spent last season on loan at Freiburg and is a fringe player in Arsene Wenger's squad.

Redknapp is also closing in on a deal to sign Sandro from Tottenham, with the Brazilian midfielder set to bring further Premier League experience to the squad.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are close to finalising an agreement with Norwich City for the permanent transfer of Ignasi Miquel.

The Spanish 21-year-old is in the final year of his contract and has been told that he can leave Emirates Stadium in search of regular first-team football.

It was originally thought that Miquel's protracted move to Carrow Road would be on loan but the Canaries are now hoping to secure him on a permanent deal.
