    :cool:Ronaldo set for movie stardom

    cristiano-ronaldo-real-madrid_hqammy770a9j1vmap2yyrr4zv.jpg

A film documenting a year in the life of Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is to be released in autumn 2015.

The Portugal international will be the subject of what the film makers claim to be a "powerful documentary following a year in the life of the world’s best footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo".

The film, when it hits the big screen, should offer a fascinating insight into the life of the former Manchester United star.

It is likely to document the highs and lows of Ronaldo's 2014/15 season which saw him awarded the Fifa Ballon d'Or for the third time in January and the subsequent slump in form which saw him overshadowed by great rival Lionel Messi.

While Ronaldo struggled, Messi's brilliance enabled Barcelona to claim a domestic and continental treble which at the weekend saw them add the Champions League crown to the Liga and Copa del Rey titles sewn up last month.

It's not yet clear whether the documentary will delve into Ronaldo's private life. In January, he hit the headlines when he split from girlfriend Irina Shayk.

Mourinho open to swap deal for Arsenal target Cech

    468084_heroa.jpg

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has hinted that he would be open to a potential swap deal involving Petr Cech.

Goal exclusively revealed in June that Cech’s preference is to join Arsenal this summer, having lost his place as Chelsea’s first-choice goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois last season.

Mourinho has remained adamant that he will not allow the 33-year-old to join another Premier League club but admits he would be unable to persuade Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich from selling.

When asked if he believed Abramovich would sanction a sale, Mourinho replied: ”Perhaps. Perhaps. Every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player that I like in that team too.

"My answer is not important. My answer is not important because the owner is the owner, he is the person with the perspective I admire a lot, respect a lot. He respects a lot of people who do important things for him.

"Since 2004 to 2014-15, 10 years of success with the club, 10 years of unbelievable behaviour. I will have to accept any decision that the owner has.

"I'm different. I have the same respect for Petr that everybody at the club has, but my answer would be, no way. If the answer is different I will accept that."

Luis Enrique agrees new Barcelona deal

    luis-enrique-barcelona-celebrate-juventus-barcelona-champions-league-final-06062015_o7a1jd8b553a1dst7amu5dor1.jpg

Barcelona have announced that coach Luis Enrique has agreed a new contract with the club that will keep him at Camp Nou for a further two years.

The former Blaugrana midfielder only took charge last summer and led the Catalans to a remarkable treble in his first season at the helm.

However, his future had been in doubt, with reports suggesting that he remained unhappy with the fact that he was allegedly on the verge of being sacked in January, after a poor run of results and dressing-room row with star player Lionel Messi.

Barca, though, have now rewarded the ex-Spain international for a stunning finish to the 2014-15 campaign by handing him a contract extension.

"We've closed the deal for Luis Enrique to remain as Barcelona coach until 2017," Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu stated on Tuesday.

Luis Enrique, meanwhile, was only too happy to extend his contract for a further 12 months.

“We are naturally very happy," he said on behalf of his coaching team. "After the wonderful year we’ve had, with difficulties but a very happy ending, we are more than thrilled about the hope of winning more titles."Everything that we have ahead of us in more than exciting.”

Luis Enrique spent eight seasons at Barcelona as a player, winning both La Liga and the Copa del Rey twice following his controversial 1996 move from Real Madrid. The 45-year-old also started his coaching career at Camp Nou in 2008, spending a year at the helm of the club's B team before taking charge of Roma in 2012.

After an unsuccessful spell at the Stadio Olimpico, Luis Enrique restored his reputation at Celta before returning to Catalunya in May of last year, succeeding Gerardo Martino as Barca boss.

Ibrahimovic tells Odegaard: Grow up and get rid of your Dad

    martinodegaard-cropped_jsle5c4ncz3p1727k9jh6sugw.jpg

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has told Real Madrid starlet Martin Odegaard he must "become a man" and escape the guidance of his father if he wants to become a success.

Odegaard, still just 16 years old, moved to the Santiago Bernabeu from Stromsgodset in January, after being courted by a host of top European sides, including Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool.

The midfielder went head-to-head with Ibrahimovic in an international friendly on Monday as their respective nations, Norway and Sweden, played out a 0-0 draw in Oslo.

Ibrahimovic was asked about the hosts' teenage sensation aftewards and had some strong words of advice for the prodigy.

"It's not easy to say, but he has a father that controls everything completely," the striker told Swedish paper Aftonbladet."First, he must grow up and become a man and then get rid of his father."Ibrahimovic does not doubt Odegaard's talent, though, admitting that he was impressed by what he saw of the youngster in Oslo.

"He did well, played straightforward and didn't lose many balls," the attacker added. "He has a long time to get even better. It's good that he's already playing for his country."

    Carver & Stone leave Newcastle

    1432732_heroa.jpg

John Carver and Steve Stone have left Newcastle, with Steve McClaren set to be announced as the club's new manager on Wednesday.

Carver, who took charge of the Magpies in January when Alan Pardew vacated the hotseat to move to Crystal Palace, almost oversaw relegation to the Championship following a 10-game winless run, which included eight consecutive defeats.

Newcastle had originally approached McClaren following Pardew's departure, only to be knocked back, and returned to ask the then-Derby County boss to guide them out of danger with three games of the Premier League season to go.

He refused, however, leaving Carver to finish the season. Victory against West Ham on the final day ensured the club's narrow survival but he has now been told that his services will no longer be required.

Stone, who was in temporary charge alongside Carver for two games in January before returning to his role as first team coach, has also departed St James's Park.

The Magpies approached McClaren for a third time in recent weeks and he finally agreed to take over after being sacked by Derby following the Rams' failure to finish in the Championship top six.

The former England and Middlesbrough boss returns from holiday on Tuesday and will be formally announced by Newcastle on Wednesday.

    Eriksen: I'm not leaving Tottenham

    1259812_heroa.jpg

Christian Eriksen has ruled out a summer exit from Tottenham, insisting he "feels at home" at White Hart Lane.

The midfielder, who joined from Ajax two years ago, enjoyed another fine season with 13 goals, many of which were late winners or equalisers that earned Spurs 15 points in the Premier League alone.

With rumours circulating around Hugo Lloris's future, Eriksen has underlined his happiness but admits the club must qualify for the Champions League sooner rather than later.

"I feel right at home at Tottenham," he told Ritzau. "I haven’t thought about leaving yet. I still have three years on my current deal so I'm not in a big rush to leave the club."

"Our target is the same as last season. We need to get past that fifth place and break the top four. We might have finished fifth this year but we weren't close to the top four with the games we lost.

"We've a very promising squad with a lot of young players who have done well this season and they will only improve next season. So it will be exciting."

Zidane: Benitez knows he has to deliver trophies at Real Madrid

    benitez-real-madrid-presentation_1seghbkgrzu911vnscf4bn4e69.jpg

Zinedine Zidane says Rafael Benitez is under no illusions as to the task he faces as head coach of Real Madrid. The former Liverpool and Valencia boss signed a three-year deal to replace the sacked Carlo Ancelotti after agreeing to end his spell with Napoli.

And Zidane, who currently coaches the Madrid Castilla side, says Benitez is well aware that he must deliver trophies if he is to survive at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"The club has selected Benitez and it's a good decision," he was quoted as saying by Marca. "You need to respect that decision. Benitez is a good choice, but what counts are results. He knows the place well. He knows the challenge he has ahead. Only winning titles is good enough."Zidane, who was himself reported to be in the running for the head coach role, says he is happy to continue progressing with the Castilla side.

"I want to keep learning," said the former France star. "Then I'd like to manage in the top division. I'll progress bit by bit, as I did as a footballer. We'll see if it's here or somewhere else.

"I'm staying with Castilla because I want to carry on. We had a target and we didn't achieve it. I want to achieve it. It's been a good experience. It's a completely different job from working with the first team. We're looking to get promoted. I decided to stay because Real Madrid is an amazing place and I want to contribute something important to this club".

Zidane also defended club captain Iker Casillas and has no doubt the Madrid fans will give him the same sort of send-off as Xavi has enjoyed at Barcelona in future.
"Iker is still active and when he leaves Real Madrid he'll be honoured in the same way as Xavi was," he said.

Finally, the 42-year-old offered words of support for Ancelotti.

"The president didn't speak with me about it when he took the decision [to sack him]," he explained. "I like Ancelotti and that's why I spoke with him. He did an impressive job with Real Madrid, winning many titles. It was the club's decision."

Ings excited to join 'special' Liverpool

    dannyingscropped_14rp4ifmd1er017l9vj5wn8q6g.jpg

New Liverpool signing Danny Ings is certain that he has made the right choice in leaving relegated Burnley for "a special club".

The England Under-21 international was long tipped to leave Turf Moor at the end of the season, with his contract expiring on June 30, and on Monday the Reds revealed that a deal was in place to take him to Anfield.

Ings led Burnley's scoring chart this season, netting 11 times in 35 Premier League appearances, a figure that was four higher than Liverpool's wantaway England forward, Raheem Sterling.

Clarets manager Sean Dyche acknowledged before the end of the season that Ings' departure was something of an inevitability and the striker is now targeting success at one of the country's most famous clubs.

"Thanks for your messages," he wrote on Twitter. "Delighted to be joining #LFC. A special club with great players. I will give everything to be successful."

The 22-year-old did not forget his roots, though, thanking Burnley for four memorable years.

He added: "Thanks to @BurnleyOfficial for [four] brilliant years. The fans backed me every step of the way, I will never forget that. Good luck always!"

:baffled::no:Smalling: Jones and I have already filled Ferdinand and Vidic void

    936582_heroa.jpg

Chris Smalling feels that he and Phil Jones have proved themselves as Manchester United's first-choice defenders after a "make-or-break" season.

The centre-back had previously struggled to hold down a regular spot in the United team, partly due to the presence of long-time pairing Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.

After the experienced duo left to join QPR and Inter respectively, an opportunity arose for Smalling and fellow England international Jones to stake a claim under Louis van Gaal.

Although Smalling did miss a portion of the season due to injury, he subsequently returned and produced a string of promising performances, with a new four-year deal in April evidence of the 25-year-old successfully navigating what he believed to be a crucial season for him at Old Trafford.

Asked by reporters if he and Jones could fill the void left by Ferdinand and Vidic, Smalling replied: "I think we have. It's one where it just builds over time and we've had our chance this season and now it is all about building on that next season.

"I think it was make or break, considering the outgoings at centre-back last summer.

"It was a chance where players had to step in and luckily I've been one of those who has had a good run, especially in the second half of the season.

"Apart from the start of the season, when I had a few injuries, I've been able to have a good run and the manager has shown faith in me at United.

"We take more risks at United than the majority of teams but the manager wants us to play. That is something we have fully taken on board because that is his style, and I think that has helped me when playing in the games.

"On the back of that it was nice to get another England game [against the Republic of Ireland] to carry on the season. Now it is all about building on that next season."

Rakitic: I'll run until it hurts for Messi

    lionel-messi-ivan-rakitic-barcelona-27092014_3xbl7ppvtcqp10vof8p3lufwa.jpg

Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic claims he would willingly run himself into the ground in order to help unique team-mate Lionel Messi.

Rakitic, who joined last summer from Europa League winners Sevilla, has enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign with the Catalans and scored in the Champions League final as they completed the treble.

The Croatia international formed a much-lauded midfield trio which allowed Barca's attacking trident of Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar to shine, and he admits he has no qualms about battling on the Argentine's behalf.

"I don't think we'll ever see anyone like Leo. If you have to run 10,000 metres for him and hurt your back, you do it," he told 'Al Primer Toque'.Rakitic also paid tribute to Xavi, who is moving to Qatar to join Al Sadd.

"It's been a pleasure, I'm very proud to have shared a dressing room with him," he said. "I don't need to explain what Xavi is for us. I've learned so much from him and I thank him for what he's done on and off the pitch."

The former Basel youngster went on to hail Luis Enrique for his own performance in his first season as head coach of the club, adding that being part of the club is unlike anything else."It's not easy to be Barca coach and the work Luis Enrique and his team have done is amazing," added the 27-year-old.

"Barca are the world's biggest club. Above Barca, there's nothing. My friends ask me what it's like and I tell them it's amazing. You can't explain it."

Mourinho wants three new signings - but is determined to keep Hazard

    jose-mourinho-chelsea-premier-league-24052015_bey16fzlt1jl1tsjtjuvdstc0.jpg

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says that his No.1 transfer priority this summer is to keep hold of his best players, but has promised three new signings.

After the Blues comfortably won back the Premier League title in 2014-15, the Portuguese is keen to maintain their winning mentality without making sweeping changes to the squad.

Though he wants to replace departing striker Didier Drogba as well as to add a little extra competition to his ranks, Mourinho expects to have to fight off rival clubs who might try to buy his stars.

"In other seasons, I was very happy to sell a few players - even good ones - but this year I'm not happy to sell my best players so the real challenge is to keep them," the Portuguese is quoted in the Mirror.

"If I keep [Eden] Hazard, [Nemanja] Matic, [Branislav] Ivanovic, Diego Costa and [Cesc] Fabregas, that's the first target.

"I think we need three players - a striker, because we lost our legend [Drogba], a defender and a midfielder to give a little more competitiveness to the squad, bring some new blood in and put some of the team a little bit under pressure.

"They need to know there is someone waiting to take their place - now they are the champions, I need that to sustain my way of working. But basically, I want to keep the same players, the same squad, the same manager, and bring stability to the club."

Cabaye needs to leave PSG - Deschamps

    didier-deschamps-yohan-cabaye-france_gsvqvvvb15z11cys5ausrrj44.jpg

France coach Didier Deschamps says Yohan Cabaye must leave Paris Saint-Germain if he is to be an asset at international level. The midfielder moved to Parc des Princes for €25 million in January 2014, but has since failed to become a permanent fixture in Laurent Blanc's starting XI.

As a result, Deschamps has advised Cabaye to seek a summer move after observing him during France's 4-3 defeat to Belgium."Yohan is in a complicated position with his club. He knows it. We talked about it last autumn," the 46-year-old coach said.

"In order to reach his best level [for France], to be full of confidence with pace and regularity, he needs to get that at his club. But he doesn't have the opportunity to do so there.

"Players like him are under contract. They are free to choose. But Yohan is lucid and he knows the situation. Would he find a better solution? I hope so, for him."
The former Newcastle man has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal and Crystal Palace and Cabaye revealed on Tuesday that his "representatives were working to find the best solution".

In the meantime, France are preparing to bounce back from their friendly defeat against Albania on Saturday, but Deschamps denied he was angry in the aftermath of their last fixture."That is a strong word. I was not angry," he said.

"I was not happy and I was annoyed with what I had seen, but I spoke in the same way I always do at half-time. I didn't say what was written this morning. But I talk in every game, in every half-time break, and after the games."I spoke normally as well this morning, before the training session."

De Bruyne confirms contact with Manchester City

    kevin-de-bruyne-borussia-dortmund-vfl-wolfsburg-dfb-pokal-30052015_y3g1z7fjth6o1tvw2yd5z2klg.jpg

Kevin De Bruyne has confirmed that Manchester City have made "informal contact" with his agent but insists any interested club must reach an agreement with Wolfsburg if they want to sign him this summer.

The 23-year-old has established himself as one of the most coveted young footballers in Europe after a season that saw him notch 15 goals and 25 assists in all competitions.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also understood to be interested in signing De Bruyne, who is believed to be valued by Wolfsburg at around €49 million - double the €24m they paid Chelsea to sign him in January 2014.

"I know there are some informal contacts but we say to everybody - if they want to do something they have to go to Wolfsburg, not to me," the Belgium international told Sky Sports News.

“I always thought that I was going to talk to my club first when the season was over. And for me the season is not over. That starts probably next week or the week after but I will also be on vacation.

“I don’t have any stress about these things. It will come this way and I know that there are a lot of rumours and the papers are writing a lot.”

De Bruyne played a key role as Wolfsburg finished runners-up to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and defeated Borussia Dortmund to claim the DFB Pokal, and he believes his form was the result of the regular playing time he was denied at Chelsea.

“It’s been for me a wonderful season,” he added. “I think the thing I’m most excited about is that I played almost everything, missed just one game, started everything and played everything.

“My time at Chelsea wasn’t bad. Everybody talks about it and that it was really bad but I just decided I didn’t want to stay at the club under those circumstances, I just wanted to play football and that’s what I did."

Madrid exit was emotional - Khedira

    sami-khedira-real-madrid-champions-league-25042014_2n3be1by5zrp1jat9hwkx1xhr.jpg

New Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has admitted his decision to leave Real Madrid was a hard one but is confident of winning more trophies in Turin.

The 28-year-old joined the club in 2010 and was a key figure under Jose Mourinho, but was used sparingly by Carlo Ancelotti after recovering from a serious knee injury suffered in 2013.

As a result, the club opted not to renew his contract and he has subsequently joined Juventus on a free transfer, though he harbours no ill-feeling towards his old employers.

"It was no easy decision, that's no secret. But it is easier when you are the one who decides," Khedira told reporters on Wednesday. "It was hard, emotional. Everything else would be a lie. But it shows how much I liked it there.

"I would be happy if people there would say: 'He is one of us. He is a Madridista.' I did everything for the club for five years, and I hope that people acknowledge that. Real Madrid is in my heart and it will stay there forever."While I was injured I thought about how and where I would continue my career. Half a year ago it was clear that I wanted a new challenge. It was no decision against Madrid but a decision for something new.

"Juve is a fantastic club, a club with a great tradition, a bright present and a promising future. It's no coincidende that the team has climbed among Europe's elite clubs again. I am sure that Juve will compete for titles again in Europe.

"I want to play my part in doing so. I am looking forward to a new challenge in a new club, a new league and a new country. I can't wait to get to know the club and my new team-mates."

The Germany international moves to Turin on a free and is the Bianconeri's second summer signing following Paulo Dybala's €40 million arrival earlier.
