Why didn't the High Sparrow kill Cersei instead of making her take the walk of shame?

Why in the world would he have killed her?

His goal wasn't to kill her. He wanted to establish power over her. He wanted to break her spirit and bend her to his will.

Fortunately for him, humiliating Cersei (and ending her political influence) lines up with Kevan's needs as well.

It's not just a punishment for Cersei; everyone in the city has seen what the High Sparrow can do to his enemies, even if they are queens.

Why kill your enemies when you can parade them in chains?

Is this regarding the books or the TV series?

Books - HS believes in what he does. He acted against the King's mother because he received an actual complaint (from the dude Cersei sent to throw mud at the king's wife) with strong evidence (more than one witnesses). He also acted against king's wife based on the evidence
Cersei provided. He let the king's wife go due to two reasons. 1. weak evidence 2. Samuel's father (Lord Tarly) took his army and came to rescue.

TV series - Lord Tarly totally forgotten (this is stupid because the king's power is mainly based on the army under Lord Tarly) so HS has equal power over both the mother and the wife of the king.

Then where is the Lannister army? At Casterly Rock? Why arent they in kings landing?

Can't remember the exact place but they were occupied. They also didn't have a proper, loyal, brave commander like Tarly. You can see how disorganized they were by what Jamie observed when he went there.

The problem is the HUGE inconsistency seen in the TV series. Stannis verbally states that Lord Tarly was never defeated in battle (TV series) and the same fact is mentioned in the book. So what the #%&* is he doing while their "girl and boy" are being held captive by the faith (TV series does not explain how so many men who could wield a weapon went and join the faith. The book does in detail.) without clear evidence? Where is this invincible general?

To make matters worse:- in the TV series, Ser Loras is the heir to Highgarden!

(Not true in the books. Ser Loras is basically the embodiment of heroic virtues. See how intelligent he was by the way he discussed the facts regarding Renly's death with Jamie. No interest in women or wealth. It was his dream to become a kingsguard and his house has no problem with it. His character is gang raped in the tv series).
