What do you mean I have never experienced? OFC I heard how that 3-pot 800CC Indian engine sound and I know how much power it have, it's a budget hatchback that we can't buy for a tight budget in SL due to exorbitant taxes! Autocar India review (shared by yourself) says the Alto performs better when it comes to engine and acceleration.

And yes, I publish that review. you dont have to publish everything that says good about this car. There are pros and cons. both sould be explained

btw, I earlier talked about my experience with the kwid because I own one

the slope i was talking about + that I didn't have to turn off the A/C

so we experience cars the way we drive

if you test drive this, you would have a different view on this

and its cool to hear that you visited Gannarama show room.

That I can agree, I love more "involved" driving and often my speeds exceed 60Kmph.

I don't think my views will be different even if I test drive the Kwid, I have driven the Alto and if the Alto performs better than the KWID in terms of driving pleasure I don't think I'd like the KWID more than I already do.

Anyhoo you have to accept that every Jap car within this price range (Familia, Lancer, FB15, Carina) performs better and surpass KWID in every aspect I've mentioned earlier in my reply

    of course, that's your opinion

I have never driven a alto/maruti. I have always been a passenger (cabs/friends car). I've seen they are using A/C off to get the pickup. So that was my experience there. And with kwid my experience was better

Japanese cars with these price range, all have better engines 1000cc+

so obviously they should perform better, no argument there

but they cannot be bought brand new for that price tag

    better options: expensive

If the buyer is hell - bent on buying a brand new car and is willing to sacrifice the comfort, safety, driving pleasure, space, convenience, looks, resale value etc., KWID is the best choice out there

You dont have to sacrifice anything. Just buy according to your requirement. hell or heaven will be decided upon ones requirement.

    the kwid looks amazing

    the kiwd is fuel efficient

the kwid is confort and has lot of space , boot space 300ltr (biggest in its segment)

    the driving pleasure is awesome

the kwid is convenient + full services is provided by AMW (one of the oldest and biggest companies in Sri lanka), also road side assistance is there

cannot say anything about the resale value now, because its just out of the box (2016). however you can exchange your vehicle with AMW.

If your budget is 2.2mil and

Your requirement is your vehicle being brand-new go for the KWID.

    Your requirement is

Best comfort you can get for your budget,
Best safety you can get for your budget,
Best driving pleasure you can enjoy for your budget,
Best space you can have for your budget,
Most convenient vehicle (with almost every option there is) you can get for your budget,
Better looking car you can get for your budget,
Best resale value you can get for your budget,

Go for a well maintained used Japanese car(Familia, Lancer, FB15, Carina etc)

If you want full services and official support by one of the oldest and biggest companies in Sri lanka, go for the Nissan (AMW) or Mitsubishi (United Motors).

Toyota is expanding its Prius and Lexus recall to 3.37 million cars :oo:

Japan’s Toyota Motor has recalled 3.37 million cars worldwide over possible defects involving airbags and emissions control units.

The automaker on Wednesday said it was recalling 2.87 million cars over a possible fault in emissions control units. That followed an announcement late on Tuesday that 1.43 million cars needed repairs over a separate issue involving air bag inflators.

Some of the automaker’s gasoline-electric hybrid Prius models contain both of the potential defects, taking the total number of vehicles affected by the recalls to 3.37 million.

No injuries have been linked to either issue. Toyota on Wednesday said evaporative fuel emissions control units in models produced from 2006 to 2015 including the Prius, Auris compact hatchback and its popular Corolla models were prone to cracks, which could expand over time and lead to fuel leaks.

Late on Tuesday it recalled Prius models and Lexus CT200h cars made from 2010 to 2012 over air bag inflators that could have a small crack in a weld, which could lead to the separation of the inflator chambers.

The inflator, which was not supplied by troubled maker Takata, could partially inflate and enter the vehicle interior, increasing the risk of injury, Toyota said.

@PHetti : Personally I don't really diss you or the OP for buying and reviewing the Kwid. It's good to have early adopters who take the risk and buy and then the other will be wiser from your experience. People have different requirements and tastes so if anyone is ready to compromise safety, ride quality etc for the brand-new factor that's their choice.
The OP waxing lyrical about the Kwid as it was the next big thing on motoring was a bit immature but it was still acceptable I remember a school friend who ate at Pizza hut back in the 1990's come to school and talk like he had a meal at a Michelin Starred restaurant (Please google if you don't know about Michelin stars)

You stating numerous times that Older Jap cars breakdown frequently is way off the mark because generally Jap cars specially the ones from the late 1990's to the early 2000's were 'over-engineered' they were rock solid and if you do your regular maintenance they usually hold up very well. If you do work at a place where people drive to work you can notice that the people who use JDM cars for their daily drive usually make it to work and don't spend every other day in the garage (unless of course they have been to dumb or cheap to do proper maintenance and their vehicles are badly f***ed) But this false belief of yours can be attributed to ignorance.

But the fact that you post a video of a burning Camry just goes on to show what immature small minded person you are. No car is perfect but you have sunk to the level to find a burning Camry , which is a globally popular car to justify your purchase of a tiny budget car made in the south shores of India by some road-pooping dosai-eaters is just sad. People like you need help.

This Thread has sunk to the level of a grade 5 brawl among 10 year olds. Seriously how old are you?? If you are older than 18 then I'm really sorry about you.

Enjoy your ride. Happy Motoring. Drive safe.
Try to be a little more mature when you are discussing something without trying to look like a immature 10 year old.

    Bump

Another pathetic attempt to justify your purchase of a tiny budget car which comes with an unstable body shell made in the south shores of India by some road-pooping dosai-eaters :rofl: Renault should recall all their KWIDs for having an unstable body shell but they doesn't give two shits about their customers' lives, unlike Toyota

My point is well proven here. Which is nothing is permenant 3.37million cars not just one or 2. According to you they suppose be the best with no issues right . here you go 2012 and 2015

Budget car is a budget car and it serves well for its purpose. Keep this in mind dont bring up bankrupt arguments to justify your points. You will look more stupid.
