I have a feeling even then someone's gonna report this guy to the authorities, about the abusive language he uses in public forums claiming to be police, and trying to scam the public claiming to be police etc., tarnishing the image of the police. There's a gazillion posts by this guy written in filthy language.

You didn't get the point. If you are a real police guy then it has more effect on police. You tarnish the public image they are trying to build. In this case you are pretending and tarnishing the image again. Both ways it's wrong. You are between a rock and a hard place.
