lol. That isn't hard to believe. A lot of people think that they need a religion to do everything. If somebody says that he doesn't give a shit about religion, he will be a treat like an alien.

I live in a society where everyone is moderately to extremely religious. This includes my family, friends, most of the acquaintances, people at my workplace etc. They never give me a hard time just because i don't believe in any religion
