I have PE+ 500L tank. so far so good.
even though i have located it in a concrete slab, water is not getting heated.

A slab can be reinforced in two ways depending on its thickness, loads acting. use of the structure etc :

1) Singly reinforced : Here the reinforcement is provided only in the part below the neutral axis i.e. in the tension zone. This is done when the loads acting are not too high and the concrete can resist the compression forces safely.

2) Doubly reinforced : When the loads acting are high and it is not feasible to increase the depth of the slab due to architectural or structural purposes, then we provide a doubly reinforced slab.

Here reinforcement is provided in the compression and tension zone i.e. above and below the neutral axis. This is done because the concrete alone cannot take the compression loads acting on it.

This type of slabs are preferred as it allows us to decrease the depth of the slab thus utilizing less concrete and gives more floor to floor height.
