the very foundation of reason is again another set of beliefs. so it's natural that reason would eliminate some statements that goes against those underlying assumptions. the real problem is how do we know those key assumptions are the right ones when it comes to describing the reality ?

this really is the case with abrahamic religions and that's the reason why you-know-who repeatedly emphasize science is western.

any kind of knowledge is based on it's own metaphysical beliefs based on the culture which gave rise to that religion. what's important is buddhism rejects even the buddhas teachings saying it's only a boat to cross the river and you must left it behind after attaining a bodhi. so it's like a knowledge to understand any kind of knowledge is wrong including itself.
