Recently a very strange result has been making the rounds. It says that when you add up all the natural numbers

1+2+3+4+...

then the answer to this sum is -1/12.

Anything you do with the infinity operator is invalid (nonsense) but doesn't really get classified as undefined. There are valid laws for infinite limits. That's why I didn't comment earlier. Maybe a mathematician could comment.

It's not recent.....It's from Ramanujan. But note that it has to be an addition up to infinity. Though it appears to be nonsensical, it is applicable in quantum mechanics.
