US - B1 Travel Visa Help

මචන්ලා, මට ඇමෙරිකාවට යන්න වෙලා තියෙනවා. මම වැඩ කරන්නෙ ඇමරිකන් කොම්පැණියකට ලංකාවෙ ඉඳන්. ෆ්‍රීලාන්ස් නෙවෙයි ෆුල් ටයිම්.

ඉතින් දැන් මම Temporary Business Travel Visa (B1) වලට ඇප්ලයි කරා.

වැඩ කරන කොම්පැණියෙන් sponsor letter එකයි, travel itinerary details ගන්න පුළුවන්. සම්පූර්ණ ගමනට වියදම් කරන්නෙත් කොම්පැණි එකෙන්.

මට දැනගන්න ඕන එම්බසියෙ වීස interview එකට යද්දි ගෙනියන්න ඕන documents මොනවද කියල. Visa application එකේ දාල තියෙන්නෙ පාස්පෝට් එක විතරයි.

මගෙ ඔළුවට ආවෙ මේ වගෙ දේවල් ටිකක්. මේවගෙන් මොනවද ඕන වෙන්නෙ කියල පොඩ්ඩක් දන්න කෙනෙක් කියන්න.

- Police report
- Bank statements
- Property details
- Marriage certificate
- Vehicle details to prove assets
- CRIB Report
- Credit card statements
- Address verification documents such as recent bills

සෑම බම්පුවකටම රෙප් දෙනු ලැබේ

now the process may slightly differ.

- Police report - not needed for me
- Bank statements - required
- Property details - may be required, but i didn't have any properties. better to take it if you have.
- Marriage certificate - required
- Vehicle details to prove assets - yes if you have
- CRIB Report - not needed for me
- Credit card statements - can't remember, iirc not needed
- Address verification documents such as recent bills - can't remember again. better to take these

above all, remember to take recent SALARY SLIPS!
i know some people got turned away because their salary wasn't upto the level expected by embassy to grant a visa.

also be confident during the interview. it isn't difficult.. just a few questions but somehow many people manage to screw it.

their wording may confuse you... for example, 'are you going for work' - they are asking whether you are going to do a job there. the answer is 'no', because you are not going to do a job.. but for business meetings.
'are you going to do consulting' - 'no' again.

You need to take bank payment slip.,appointment confirmation, application. Probably they don't ask anything else. Better to take banks, sponsor details, contacts etc...
