That's not a problem at all. What I am worried is about we being the country with the lowest IQ. Not very far. If you see how people present arguments here and how people vote we will be at the rock bottom of the list :P
We are fast becoming another banana republic. The problem.....Stupid educational system. Sorry!

Voting aside, I actually think the general population here is quite bright compared to other countries even in the south east asian region. Voting patterns may have other influencing factors like culture.

You can have a PhD in science and still in Montessori level in politics. That's where we have an issue. Just see the people presenting arguments here. Do they have any substance? Mostly crap and insults. :(
PS; That's why I tend to keep away from politcal stuff.

Few massacres and political conflicts were happened in Sri Lanka. Most of the intelligent people got killed.

Political power was limited to few families. They didn't identify the necessary action to keep intelligent people inside Sri Lanka and they didn't want to. Intelligent people migrated to other countries which have more opportunities.

This happened and still happening as a cycle. Slowly, weaker and low IQ people who cannot pass even the Korean exam remain inside the Country. They are running facebook pages and other social media and people who cannot fact check and analyze, always get trapped in political games driven by social media. Then wrong people get selected to the parliament. It leads to poor decisions.

Then more people will flee from the country due to lack of opportunities and frustration.

If we have atleast more quota from GDP for our Science and R&D section it will leads to more opportunities for intelligent people. (Now few Universities (USJP, UOM, UOP, UOC) have Phd programs but most of that Phds are not prioritised by local universities when they hire lecturers)

You are partly correct. The LTTE saw to that our intelligent political leadership got eliminated. They conveniently left out the the idiots and used them too. That's why we are at this juncture. We have certified idiots (and crooks) running the country. Not one single politician with a vision exists.
Many living in the lalaland happily believe certain people are capable of bringing prosperity to the country. Unfortunately the reality is far from different.

I might add.. As you correctly said most of the capable people who could make a change, sadly left the country. Many academics left during the heights of the JVP problems.

Look at all these "patriotic". "intelligent" people who aren't even living in Sri Lanka being the economical masterminds 😂 😂 😂 Funny AF

Please stop this bs. That era is long gone. The ones who left left & ones who stayed stayed. Did any of you even cared to comeback after it was all over to try to change something? Instead you are still staying there & keep on complaining.
+ millenials & the upcoming generations actually do give a shit about the country & the world to change something. It won't be quick or instant but it'll happen.
