The vehicle is not an issue, how about getting into a track and the training?
contact Katukurunda race-track or nearby track for you(foxhill, gajaba, etc..). and go to relevant officials and talk it over. it's costly business and you have to perform well to earn a sponsor for you.

If you have access to a car, what you should do is to start by driving on a race track. It is great fun, you don’t have to actually “race”, just practice driving and try to improve lap times. Pannala is quite nice and I have seen many car clubs do practice/driving days/outings at the Pannala track. If you can get in touch of the administration/company who runs the track, they might have a list of events planned for the year. It is probably the same for Katukurunda track too.
“How much it costs” is not a question anyone can answer for you. Every car is different, conditions are not the same all the time. Best is to start driving on race tracks (not actually “racing”) and learn and continue from there. You will then get to know how much it costs for the tires, what sort of brake wear you`d get, normal servicing costs of the car, fuel costs etc… What is the car you have or plan to drive?
