What is wrong with this?
I’m not Buddhist but I dont think the core is about a monk avoiding an I phone or an SUV. Its about letting go and not clinging. Even Buddha himself accepted a cart from a king I think.

He never let things go easily. I don't want to argue, but this is an important matter. If he truly let go of everything, why would he want to create a new religion? Why did he want to spread it to other countries? And why did he visit Sri Lanka several times?

All such questions arise due to sakkaya-ditti and vichikichcha.

Well its a bit complicated. I dont really see Buddhism as a religion more like a path.
The Buddha said life is suffering and the cause of suffering is desire. So you should let go of desire but then doesnt that create a new desire to let go of desire?
Its kind of tricky!
Thats why I find Buddhism so interesting.

උපාදානය තියෙන්නේ අවිද්යාව නිසා. අවිද්යාව නිසා තමයි පටිච්ච සමුප්පාද චක්රය ත්රියාත්මක වෙන්නේ. සැප/ දුක දෙකම ඇති වෙන්න හේතු,
අවිද්යාව => උපාදානය => උපාදානස්කන්ධය => ජාතිය
දුක කියන්නේ මොකක්ද ඇහුවොත් උත්තෙයක් දෙන්න පුලුවන්ද? බුද්ධාගම් තියරි නෙමෙයි, ඔයාට හිතෙන එක.
නිදියන්නැද්ද, උදේ ඔෆිස් යන්න ඕනේ, ළමයි ස්කෝලේ දාන්න ඕනේ නේද?
