The issue with the casting choices isn't just about Helen and Achilles/Sinon. Its about Nolan's crony castings. He has a circle of actors and a nepo network. He overpays for those well-known, expensive people with money that could've been spent on sets and costumes to achieve more realism. In this movie, everything is cheap-looking. He messed up with the openheimer nuke scene also for the same reason. (one of the worst nuke scenes in history) If he hired newcomers or not well-known veterans for the roles for little money, he could've spent it all on better world-building and art direction. I oppose this favoritism in casting, and thats one of the reasons I dont support the Nolan cult.

The horse should be a rudimentary build because the Greeks built it without proper tools or machinery during war. Anything that's elaborative and aesthetically beautiful wouldn't fit the rest of the story. So, that 2026 build is total crap in my opinion.

on the other hand Nolan opted for the obviously wrong viking ship because he wanted the voyage and the sea travel feel "authentic"
