let you yourself be clear of what you talk. read through your own comments and you may find answwers for any doubts or questions you got. further remember in your mind that i never asked you what author meant, but what it meant to you.

i dont know about you or the rest but when a poem makes no sense to me, in order to get an idea, i usually read other comments...so they do inspire my opinion. so if i posted the real meaning, in my point of view, it would ruin the pleause in interpreting for somebody else..the way i see it.

you tell you read through the comments if it not sure of the real meaning. that means you are insearch of the meaning behind it. then you would come across many ideas/opinions of different people, which could be right or wrong, but sill you have to decide it how far they match with the poem. so saying what one understood wont make any harm for you, thus it will keep you in check. you yourself agree with this in the below comment.

look ..an opinion is something a reader like myself have about a poem..which is not necessarily the real meaning. .i can be influenced from it ..supported by it.

and a fact would be, if i posted the meaning here which i know is real....it's like helping somebody decipher a puzzle and just giving him the answer..get it? if i didn't know the meaning in the first place if i had just an idea i would have posted it. which would be my contribution to the actual meaning.

first a poem is not a puzzle or quiz. it is an art. puzzle or quiz has only one answer for it. but a poem could adress one or more things in the same verse and wordings. and i asked what it meant to you, not for the writter of it. so yours could be right, could be wrong. hence no harm for the readers like you mentioned earlier. well you prove it again below.

yeah it could ..but you can never be sure unless the poet assures you :P and it is, of course, assuming that poem is not as straight forward as a simple sentence..

well you had all the answers to you in your own coments.

lol. It was done purposely. If you don't put enough attention u suppose to say "Niyamai bro".:rofl:

    But didn't u notice "නිස්තේජ, ශ්වේතීය" ??

i have no doubts here bro im perfectly positively clear about where i stand. and fortunately when i read my own comments they dont confuse me if they do that to you, i suggest you cease reading them.

you tell you read through the comments if it not sure of the real meaning. that means you are insearch of the meaning behind it. then you would come across many ideas/opinions of different people, which could be right or wrong, but sill you have to decide it how far they match with the poem. so saying what one understood wont make any harm for you, thus it will keep you in check. you yourself agree with this in the below comment.
yeah and for this i have to repeat my last reply about actual meanings and readers' thoughts. so simply go and read it again. and pls keep in mind that im talking for myself my opinion about poetry and extents i would reach to understand them if they are not applicable to you then sorry just walk away.

first a poem is not a puzzle or quiz. it is an art. puzzle or quiz has only one answer for it. but a poem could adress one or more things in the same verse and wordings. and i asked what it meant to you, not for the writter of it. so yours could be right, could be wrong. hence no harm for the readers like you mentioned earlier. well you prove it again below.

first im not you, a well abstract poem is an interesting puzzle to me i love deciphering them. i write abstract poems and i expect others to look upon them as somewhat puzzles. so when i read i do the same.

for the millionth time, i got the meaning from the poet before i have my own idea. so i simply can't think of it in another way. hence no personal opinions

if i remember correctly i said unless poet assures you right ..so finally when you've come up with your own interpretation you can have the poet confirm it. if, of course poet does give away the meaning ..cos i do know some poets personally who don't do that.

well you had all the answers to you in your own coments.

weird i didn't even have a question from the start lol i was just trying to explain you .

what you fail to realize my good friend is that you and i dont bear same points of view..im simply acting from my own, if what you receive from your end is not correct according to yours, well that does not mean im wrong nor are you. but i wont do something that i dont want somebody else to do too.

you read a poem and you have some opinion/idea of it,

will you post it(what you think as the meaning or theme)?
do you post your opnion if you think that it is not the correct one(do you post crap)?
do you like to see other people's opinion's of the poem( how they have extract it)?

do you read other's opinions if you have no grasp of a poem?
if you read other people's opinions of the poem, will you enhance/adapt to any of those you think that they are close or matching?

thanks. this will clear us mate. please only answer "yes" or "no" and straight on the question.

EDITED- i don't know whether or not it is too late to see this massage. just ignore this post. if you still want to answer these or talk along "pm" me. cheers.

Hey Bro, I think u r taking this lil far than it should.

Twisted is one of few guys who try to inspire a poem than just read it in ek, I have seen he posts his ideas, what he inspire from poems in his comments.

As he said earlier, before I post it to ek I told him the meaning of it. That's y he didn't post anything about meaning in his comment and even when u asked. But he said he'll pm it to u if u like. I think that is fair enough. Even I did the same until one near find out the meaning.

Even me when I get doubt about the meaning of a poem, looks in to others comments for clues.

I always believe that writing puzzles inside poems and solving it, both are arts. Poems shouldn't be only there for feel. You can use it to pass msgs, even hidden messages. Some poems have several meanings even.

So I suggest let's end this argue here and stay friends. What u say ?

    Bravo....

first up there is no rash argument here. he is a nice guy and a friend for me as anyone else here. is twisted hurt of anything i told? then i will appologise him and take back those faulty comments/words immediately.

i simply asked him not you told about what you wrote, but what he himself thought of behind it my friend.

you have told him the meaning behind it. why did you give it, did he asked you what it realy meant? or you gave the poem to him and told what it is about before any of his own thoughts?

a regular puzzle would only have one answer my mate. irony and poetics are different things.

Poems shouldn't be only there for feel. You can use it to pass msgs, even hidden messages. Some poems have several meanings even.

agreed. but have no clue why you wrote all these here. besides normaly everyone knows it regardless their attitude towards(enjoy or not) poems.

it could be. i never questioned that mate. he may be a genious at it(poems and art of words). and am sure he's a sensible guy.

Well I don't know and think he is hurt, The arguments looked endless that's y I interfere.

If I wrote anything unrelated I'm sorry about that. Those things happens right ?? Think u can understand.

It may be my fault, I told him I'm gonna write this kind of poem even before I start writhing it. And when I finished it I told him what and why things stand in it. So my fault...

I think this may clear some of ur doubts.

    Have fun

alright. that might have been the case then. sory it was unclear for me since there was no such statement from twisted. and yeah if that the case there is no point of me asking his thoughts/opinions of it. so twisted, things clear for me what happened. thus i don't think twisted got hurt of anything. ifso please take my appologies for it.

but make sure next time you wont tell him. it ruins his pleasure. and i think not me who should appologise, but you for ruining his pleasure.:P

um actually the one who wrote this kind of told me the story..i wouldnt have interpreted it right anyway for the lack of clues behind his actually idea..but however i can see if ppl give this a different meaning for it's ultra abstractness and obscurity. ...isn't that the beauty of it anyway.

i read it alright ..i think i told you already that i talked with the poet here and he told me the meaning. if you are trying to say anything for which im not responding pls feel free to make it a bit more specific cos i might not be reading you thoroughly.

for the millionth time, i got the meaning from the poet before i have my own idea. so i simply can't think of it in another way. hence no personal opinions
