Phones do have unicode support, the thing is people dont know how to use it. If phones have appropriate fonts it'll be displayed.
Who the hell makes a browser that doesnt support unicode? if anyone did who'd use it??
    :P
My nokia 1650 supports unicode, it sends unicode sms too !:D

As you are very good in using unicode, I propose you to create a online tool (which cn embed in web pages) to convert singlish to unicode like ucsc did !!:) if we can giv a chnace to user to select unicode or singlish it will be the best thing ! then He (user) cn decide what he want.

eka Java Script walin karanna puluwan wei. but mama test karala ne. mata ekata hari idea ekak enneth ne. samahara wita mama unicode gena wediya danne nethi nisa wenna athie. kohomath weda tikak adu unata passe mata oka gena hoyanna wela thiyewi kiyala mama hithanawa. eth oya tikak try karala balannako !

Internet is what people write, talk and do. English is English and it is needed to reply for English problems and those who only know English thats all.
It's not fair for you to ask people what to use when they type their ideas. Its their choice not yours they prefer sinhala because they want to yes non-sinhala and some people who cant read sinhala will have trouble understanding it but thats their choice. They want only the sinhala readers to understand what they write...simple as that!

And mind you there is a possibility of running a machine 100% sinhala or any other language if someone needs, the the problem of displaying fixed width characters will be a problem but there are ways to get around that. Even the BIOS could be in a language other than English :P
