u have 2 give or takaway rep points from other members, then u can give or reduce reps from same user again..
there are no time limit, but u must give others reps..that is spreading reputation.

I'll tell you what really happened. I gave lkdood a rep point for some thread about one month back. And after that I have taken and given enough rep points from various other members. Recently, lkdood had posted another thread which I thought deserved a rep point. When I awarded it, the error message came to say that I have to spread more before I give it to lkdood again!
