Gen. Fonseka agrees to TNA demands

http://srilankawatch.com/index.php?o...d=548&Itemid=1

R. Sambandhan MP, Mavai Senathirajah MP and Suresh Premachandran MP all from the TNA had met the leader of opposition Ranil Wickramasinghe and the common opposition candidate General Fonseka and had discussed the problems Tamil community are facing and on the solution to the ethnic problem last night (22nd).
The TNA members have also had an hour long discussion with SLMC leader Party leader Rauf Hakeem about the problems that Tamil and Muslim community have.

Sri Lanka Watch learns from sources close to UNF that at the end of the meeting common candidate Gen. Sarath Fonseka has agreed to most of the demands tabled by the Tamil National Alliance, including the removal of all high security zones on the north and east, reduce the number of defence camps in the north and east, release over 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty etc. etc.
The following were the demands of the TNA.
1. Release 12,000 Tiger suspects held in detention under a common amnesty.:frown::frown::frown::no::no::no:
2. Remove all high security zones in the northeast.
3. Reduce the number of army camps in the north and east.
4. Find a political solution to the ethnic crisis.
5. Resettle the displaced quickly.
6. Provide them with all necessary facilities.
7. Construct houses they need.
8. End all planned resettlement that is being done in the east.
Prior to the meeting with Fonseka, Sambantha had called for a meeting of all 22 members, but only 12 members showed up for the meeting. According to MP Ariyanethiran, the TNA is yet to meet President Rajapakse. The TNA parliamentarians will be meeting again among themselves on the 4th of Jan. 2010.

Did you forget about TNA? Here is a reminder about TNA and its leader Sampamthan!

TNA leaders to meet LTTE leadership in Killinochchi

http://www.tamilnet.com/art.html?catid=13&artid=11238

Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader Mr.R.Sampanthan said Monday that vital decisions would be taken in consultations with the leadership of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam on Tuesday in Killinochchi regarding the forthcoming parliamentary general elections.

Mr. Sampanthan and former national list parliamentarian Mr.K.Thurairatnasingham will be leaving from Trincomalee to Killinochchi Tuesday morning to meet Mr.S.P.Thamilchelvan and other LTTE leaders regarding mapping out election strategy, TNA sources said.

Mr.Sampanthan said this is time for the Tamils and Tamil moderate leadership to show that they have been with the LTTE to the international community.

Mr.Jospeh Pararajasingham, another senior leader of the TNA, left Colombo Monday evening to Kilinochchi, having filed a petition in the Court of Appeal against the interim injunction order of the Colombo District Court which has been in favour of the Tamil United Liberation Front's (TULF) leader, Mr. V.Anandasangaree. Other TNA leaders also left Monday to Killinochchi, sources said.

At the discussion which is scheduled to be held Tuesday in Kilinochchi with LTTE leadership, all matters related to the issue of Mr. Anadasangaree's legal challenges, problems faced by the TNA in selecting a suitable election symbol for the TNA candidates in the event the TULF's election symbol "Rising Sun" symbol could not be used, would be finalized, sources said.

From Kilinochchi all TNA leaders would travel to Colombo attend the nomination board of the TNA, which is scheduled meet Wednesday in Colombo to finalize the list of candidates, sources said.

Why is LTTE proxy TNA supporting Sarath?

Why does TNA ask to release LTTE cadres? Remove High Security zones ? Disarm Tamils groups that supported the GOVT (So LTTE could kill them)?

IF, TNA cared about Tamil people, they would ask for school, Hospitals, road.. not to release LTTE cadres!

Dear Friends, Are we this stupid?
