    එහෙනං අපි දෙන්න දන්න ඇටි කෙහෙල ගැන මෙතන කතාකරමු, නොදන්න කම ප්‍රදර්ශනය කරන්න එපා , JDM 286 BHP සහ ඊට වැඩි ඒව යන්නෙ Super car කැටගරි එකට, ඒවට තව Tuner cars කියලත් කියනව, American cars ( camaro, corvetter, etc) වගේ ඒව යන්නෙ Muscle cars කියන කැටගරි එකට, ඊලගට Lamborghini, Ferrari, Mclaren, Bugatti. වගේ ඒව යන්නෙ Exotic cars කැටගරි එකට

    තව මේක ගැන වාද විවාද කරන්න ඕන නම් කියවන්න පුලුවන් සයිස් අකුරුවලින් දාන්න, (ගොන් ස්මයිලි දාන්න එපා)

    Some German Companies are also making 286bhp cars.

    While most BMW production is in Germany; BMW has subsidiaries in Austria, Canada, the United States, South Africa, Indian and China.

    BMW points out that the new 335d is the most powerful diesel engine it has sold in the UK and the most powerful six-pot diesel in the world. Crammed into a little 3-series it produces a titanically, toweringly fast car. But for those used to quick petrol cars, it’s a different and deceptive kind of fast. Rev it out to the redline from standstill and the diesel produces a deep, six-pot yowl.

    But it does its most impressive work at speeds in excess of, erm, 69mph, the rev needle flicking lazily from 1500 to 2500rpm, the engine almost silent but producing torque so vast, solid and palpable you feel you can reach out and touch it, and acceleration so at odds with the car’s otherwise utterly calm demeanour that it’s very easy to get caught out. This kind of performance is odd, rare and distinctive. You need to experience it.

    That 286bhp is actually 12bhp more than the 535d gets, though the Fünfer will be uprated soon. The peak torque of 427lb ft comes in at just 1750rpm. The 2993cc straight-six is twin-turbocharged and works a six-speed auto box with wheel-mounted shifters. 0-62mph is done in 6.1sec and the top speed is limited to 155mph, but it’s the imperious in-gear acceleration that really impresses. And this diesel supercar promises a combined 37.7mpg and a CO2 figure of 200g/km.

    Now, at £35,475 for the coupe tetsted, but only in SE trim until early next year when the M Sport version arrives. The 335d SE gets sports suspension as standard, one step firmer than the standard coupe suspension of lesser models, and 17-inch wheels with 225-section tyres which can be upgraded to 18s or 19s. The M Sport will have springs and dampers one step firmer still, 18s as atandard and M Sport styling.

    The M Sport package fitted to 3-series saloons and tourings can produce a busy ride over poor surfaces. We tried a 335d Coupe SE on its standard 17-inch rubber and thought it was a good compromise. There was some road roar over harsh surfaces, but the ride was generally calm and quiet, without affecting the chassis’s ability to cope with the cornering forces that engine can generate with typical BMW competence.

    At low speeds the steering in the diesel is very heavy; heavier than the equivalent petrol 335i's, probably due to the extra weight over the nose. Could be a pain if you spend a lot of time driving in town, but it lightens and resolves with speed. We're talking about the standards steering setup though: you can order the variable-geared active steering but you trade feel for lightness.

    For now the 335d is auto-only. You can tell it’s a diesel at tickover but it’s exceptionally quiet with almost no vibration through the control surfaces. At speed, it’s silken. You don’t even have to suffer downturned exhaust pipes any more – the 335d has two chromed cans on either side.

    German Tuner Reveals 286bhp VW Scirocco

    Munich-based HS Motorsport reveals tuned 'Remis' Scirocco that should outgun forthcoming Scirocco R20


    286bhp Remis will outgun 261bhp R20
    If you can't wait until September for the VW Scirocco R20, or if its promised 261bhp and 258lb ft isn't enough (the Focus RS does have 300bhp, after all), Munich-based tuner HS Motorsport may have come to your rescue. HS has revealed the 286bhp 'Remis', a modified body-kitted Scirocco. HS takes the standard 1984cc 2.0-litre EA113 engine (the same as in the Scirocco R20 and not the new EA888 from the latest Golf GTI) and uses a new air intake and modified exhaust as well as a few other internal modifications to turn the wick up.


    This is not going to have a soft ride...
    Those still yearning after more power (and, presumably, horrific torque steer) will eventually be able to specify a 315bhp version, says HS. Unfortunately, unlike the Scirocco R20, the Remis doesn't have VW's clever XDS electronic differential to help it put its power onto the road, but it does get H&R coilover suspension, a one-piece disc-and-caliper brake system, and 20-inch alloys wearing Vredestein 245/30 ZR20 rubber.
    Visual tweaks include carbonfibre bumpers and side skirts, while inside there are heated Recaro bucket seats and some, er, striking white embroidered Remis logos.
    There are no official performance figures for the Remis, but we suspect that its speed will be matched by an ability to shred front tyres.

    Seems there is some confusion about 'super cars'

    I think what GihanFX meant was 'Supercar' category in usual Sri Lankan racing categorization is defined as '286BHP+' japanese cars.

    IMO in the usual day to day use, term 'supercar' has no real definition.

    Some might say only cars like Ferrari Enzo, Carrera GT, Mc-Merc SLR are the real super cars.

    But some categorize any seriously powerful sport cars such as Ferrari 430, Porsche 911, Nissan GTR as Supercars and higher end Super cars like Enzo, Mc-Merc SLR etc as 'Hyper Cars'.

    So theres no real rule to measure a supercar. Its just a term that depends on the user.

    Anyway I think its better not to start flamewars or conflicts on these type of miscomunications. ;)

    Spot on Mate :yes::yes: the definition is differ from country to country too :yes:, as a small example check the USDM and JDM Subaru WRX STi, JDM is 2L Turbo and the USDM is 2.5L Turbo, so if we compare these two cars the out put is the same, still if we do a small stroking job for the JDM (2.L to 2.13L) JDM outputs more, thats the reason even in America they prefer JDMS over USDM, still this only matter for the Tuners , as a example 286 BHP is not that big power, even my previous car STI RA-R had 320 HP and with slight mods we got 400HP out of it, still its not that big power, ( because we dont have a Dyno in SL the BHP ratings may not be accurate) but on the book 400 sounds bit big. but even a highly modified JDM is no match for a car like The Koenigsegg CCX, thats why we should not put Tuner cars (JDM Super cars) and Exotic cars in the same bag.

    Comparing STi's and EVOs with M3's M5's are like comparing apples and oranges :)
