Think about the basic issue ; do we want to consider the education as a commodity ? or do we want the eduction be a right ? this is a social question . the way people look in to the idea will decide the outcome as long as the democracy is prevailed. so let Udul to say his idea. let the others to say there ideas.
do the people who voted to this government ( mostly from the villages ) really want to consider the education be in the free market ???? then let that be .

Education is a commodity as well as a right..the simple truth is who ever has the ability will pursue their higher education dreams one way or another..ask yourselves, how many you know are studying in overseas?, how many attend private colleges such as APIIT, SLIIT, NIBM etc?.. this is the truth, with or without private universities in Sri Lanka, students will always either attend to private colleges or unis in overseas...if Udul has a true passion (without no political gain what so ever) for less-fortunate youths in Sri Lanka, then he should start from protesting against private tution classes..People who can afford speending money on their children;s education will ALWAYS do so under any circumstances, similarly, people who cannot, wont be able to..this has been the turth in Sri Lanka (as well as in most parts of Asia) for a long long time..I am pretty sure the village people who voted MR didnt vote for him to gain extra free education...They voted him with the hopes of a country free of terrorism and MR delivered just that..
Ask your self, what would you do if u werent qualified enough to gain entry to a Sri Lankan university?...what would you do next? SLIT, APIIT, NIBM or overseas? would u insist that u want to learn a new skill without having to pay anyone?
