    this is the spirit!!

It appears you seem to have something against Jackson Anthony. While he is a Christian, his knowledge on SL history is profound. Also from what we can see (since I dont know the man personally), he's not living his life according to a Christian mindset.

Also, I've no doubt that if he directed Sooriya Arana, it'd still have a Buddhist Monk in the center role.

BTW, do you know who 'panaputhra kuhumbupani' is ?

I dnt have anything personal against jackson but if he's tried to distort our history to give his version of aba then he has no right to do so....since this is a historical saga & not a bible story to which you can add your own interpretation & understanding....

true he has a profound knowledge on history than any of us but you've failed to see what each & everyone in this thread has by far agreed to about incorporating his catholic mindset in to this historical story...

so even i have a doubt whether you truly are appreciating this movie in a moderate mindset or in blind faith towards jackson

    yeah.. exactly
according to my side its a movie... it's unfair to compare with the history what we heard in school or what we read through history books.

in the track of jakson's point of view he has made a film. should it 100% accurate what we heard about history? you might have heard different story and someone another... :D
so watch it just as a movie. no need to compare with the mysteries :)

I'm accepting the movie with an open mind set without having any blind faith to Anthony.
However the story he has portrayed with Aba mostly agrees with what the scholars had said about this time period in the 'sinhalaye maha wansa kathawa' series (done several years before Aba).
So you cant directly say that it has a catholic mindset just because of a few similar visuals in the movie.
Movie director is catholic + has a few scenes that are similar to a movie made about jesus = Aba is a catholic movie ?
    Does that seem rational ??
Would you say the same if the movie Passion of the Christ was made first ? instead of Jesus of Nazareth ?

no machan you've mixed up what I'm trying to say...i never said aba was a catholic movie..all I'm saying is that since jackson had directed it,he has percieved some situations according to his catholic mindset & incorporated them in to his movie.....So it makes this a presonal viewpoint of jackson anthony....so if someone with an open mindset had produced this, then the content would have been a bit different...

but no arguments about the quality of the movie barring the catholic scenes..personally i think it's a better movie compared to most rubbish being shown in theateres in this country
