NPP/SJB was continuously asked to come and become the PM first. Both were dodging it throwing various conditions. If I recall properly they even said that they didn't want to take the responsibility but will support. And when Ranil came without any conditions, SJB started to double back and say "we will take it, no need to meet conditions". but at that point RW had already become PM. and then majority voted for him to become PM. Yeah jeppas put Anura just to save face.

Bottomline --> Guys who have their tails between their legs in a time of crisis aren't leaders.
