Lanka IOC, a unit of Indian Oil Corporation said profits in the September 2012 quarter rose 327 percent from a year earlier, partly helped by foreign exchange gains.

The firm reported earnings of 2.22 rupees per share. In the six months to September the firm reported earnings of 2.58 per share on total profits of 1.37 billion rupees in interim accounts filed with the Colombo Stock Exchange.

Revenues grew 58 percent to 20.1 billion rupees, expenses grew 18.6 percent to 56.3 billion rupees and gross profits grew 93 percent to 1.57 billion rupees.
The firm also reported 112 million rupees in foreign exchange gains.

01. your facts are wrong. The tax is only around 27%.

02. Ceypetco + IOC sell diesel at a loss. Because of the stupid belief of SL govt, CBSL and policy makers that the price of the diesel is directly linked to inflation. So they sell diesel at a loss and petrol is highly taxed around 27%.

(The Singapore price of refined, petrol and diesel products are around about 102 to 105)

Just go through the latest financials in CSE. I really dont think IOC make a massive profit by operating in SL.

just saw these figures..I'd love to see the same for the year before. To have a 327% increase of the profit, it's highly likely that they have made a loss in the previous year same quarter. And party helped by non-operating profits too.

මචන් පලවෙනි කාරණය තමයි ඉන්දියන් ඔයිල් සමාගමේ සැබෑ දත්ත හා ඔවුන් ඉදිරිපත් කරන දත්ත ලොකු වෙනසක් තියනවා.

27% කියන්නේ පිරිපහදු කල පෙට්රෝල් සඳහා ය කරන බද්ද.පිරිපහදු නොකළ විදියට හා ඉන්දන ප්‍රති අපනයන විදියට ගෙන්වීමේදී මෙම බදු අගයන් අඩුයි.
102-105 කියන්නේ සින්ගපුරුවේ දල මිල ගනන් . බොර තෙල් නිෂ්පාදනය කරන හා මහා පරිමාණ ගනුදෙනු වලදී මෙම අගයන් අඩුයි.

අනික ඉන්දු ලංකා වෙළඳ ගිවිසුම් නිසා සමහර බදු සම්පුර්ණ වශයෙන් ය කරගන්න බැහැ .

එක නිසා මෙතන අපිට පෙනෙන දේට වඩා හාත්පසින්ම බරපතල තත්වයක් තියෙන්නේ.
