There was a very good documentary on Rodi Caste done by Rupawahini and this is one of the best doc. I have ever seen on our TV channels . A well researched one and less glamour (quite opposite to most !). This may be about 20 years ago. It showed the Rodi language speaking women and how it had become a dead language, and also said that there were large number(number was stated) in Government Service who belonged to Rodi Caste! So we were successful in shattering the glass ceiling for deprived caste.
There are already estate community officials at the highest places in govt.
Despite all these a UN HR report was released about 10 years ago stating that biggest issue in Sri Lanka was Caste?
