A lump that stays on or does not change it's size needs to be looked at. Usually a doctor can feel it and assess the situation and might have a follow up. In any case you need peace of mind that it;s not something harmful. Any persistent lump needs further investigation whether breastfeeding or not. Breast cancer in young lactating mothers is rare. The probability is low but non-zero.
The doctor can do an ultrasound - a mammogram is not the preferred first option for breast feeding mothers. Seek medical advice and not opinions posted in here.
